New Jersey has reaffirmed its commitment to achieving 2 GW of energy storage by the end of the decade. According to ESS News, the state will implement a reverse auction that will run until August 20, aiming to secure up to 750 MW of grid-scale energy storage facilities. Following this initial phase, a second stage is set to commence in early 2026, with the goal of accumulating sufficient capacity to meet the state’s first-phase target of 1 GW.
