New Strategic Cooperation for Comprehensive Recycling of Lithium Batteries

Recently, the People’s Government of the Dushanzi District in Karamay City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and Xinjiang Fengyan Resource Recycling Co., Ltd. officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement to advance a comprehensive recycling project for 30,000 tons of waste lithium batteries per year. The Dushanzi District Government highlighted that the recycling and comprehensive utilization of waste lithium batteries aligns closely with the district’s industrial transformation towards high-end and intelligent development, effectively promoting green, low-carbon circular growth and supporting regional sustainable development goals.

According to reports, the project plans to establish production lines for battery disassembly, secondary utilization assembly, and crushing recycling. Once completed, the project will achieve high-value recycling of 30,000 tons of discarded lithium batteries annually. This initiative is expected to extend the new energy industry chain in the Dushanzi District and contribute to the development of a resource recycling economy, filling a gap in this field within the region.
