On May 11, the fifth edition of the International Medical Health Week, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, was inaugurated at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This event features two flagship activities: the sixth Asian Medical Health Summit Forum and the 17th Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Exhibition.
The Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Exhibition runs for three days, from May 11 to 13, with the central theme of “Intelligent Healthcare, Innovative Experience”. The exhibition brings together approximately 300 exhibitors from 10 countries and regions, focusing on smart medical technology, aging technology, and preventive medicine, showcasing the latest medical technologies that integrate artificial intelligence and robotics.
The event attracted many participants eager to experience the advancements in medical technology firsthand.
In related news, the event aims to enhance connectivity across the industrial chain. Hong Kong residents can now use electronic medical records for cross-border medical services between Hong Kong and Guangdong. Furthermore, the health literacy level regarding traditional Chinese medicine among Chinese citizens has reached 26.85%. The Healthy Wan Chai initiative promotes primary healthcare services, offering 10 different services for citizens to experience.
Hong Kong plans to amend regulations by the end of this year or early next year to simplify the procedure for uploading medical records to the healthcare system. Additionally, the Hong Kong Kai Tak Business Association visited the Mind Health Centre, and a new promotional campaign for the Hong Kong Healthcare system encourages citizens to use technology for health management.
With the help of technology, the aim is to optimize the healthcare system. Health Secretary Lo Chung Mau visited various health centers to understand their operations and strengthen cooperation in healthcare. He also led a delegation to Guangdong Province for a three-day visit to enhance exchange and collaboration in the healthcare sector.
