The 28th China Beijing International Science and Technology Industry Expo (Beijing Science and Technology Expo) is being held from May 8 to 10 at the National Conference Center. The theme for this year is Technology Leads, Creating the Future.” The expo covers a total area of approximately 50,000 square meters, featuring over 800 domestic and international enterprises and organizations.

This year’s expo includes three main components: an exhibition, trade investment promotion activities, and online display and matchmaking. The exhibition is divided into six thematic areas: information technology, medical health, green “dual carbon,” intelligent manufacturing, technology finance, and regional innovation. A variety of future and emerging industries are on display, showcasing innovative technologies and applications, including humanoid robots, smart glasses, and drones.

Embodied intelligence is a significant focus at this year’s expo, with numerous applications in commercial and industrial scenarios. Companies such as the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, Yushu Technology, and Galaxy General are showcasing their embodied intelligence products. A giant hyper-realistic humanoid robot, created by TitanAI in collaboration with JD Group, is making its debut at this event. Standing at 6 meters tall, it sets a new global height record for humanoid robots, accurately replicating human contours and facial expressions.

The Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center is presenting three models: the Embodied Tiansheng 3.0, Embodied Tiansheng Ultra, and Tianyi 2.0. These robots cover various fields such as general humanoid functions, high-performance sports, and industrial manufacturing. During the expo, the Beijing humanoid robots performed several challenging dynamic displays, captivating the audience and receiving continuous applause. The Embodied Tiansheng 3.0 demonstrated synchronized and fluid dance movements, showcasing exceptional control capabilities.

In a commercial retail scenario, Galaxy General’s robot identifies products from shelves and delivers them to consumers after an order is placed. A staff member explained, “We primarily focus on work-capable robots, including those for commercial retail and industrial applications such as handling and unloading.”

According to Zhang Feng, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the China Electronic Society and former Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China’s future industries are entering a new phase characterized by “system layout and accelerated implementation.” He emphasized the importance of supporting cutting-edge fields like quantum technology and embodied intelligence to create a new model of intelligent economy through “Artificial Intelligence +.” He also expressed three hopes: a commitment to innovation, adherence to ecological integration, and a focus on practical implementation.

This year, the functionality of smart glasses has evolved significantly. The new subsidy program for digital products now includes smart glasses, resulting in robust growth in the retail sales of communication devices. By mid-April, 16 domestic brands of smart glasses had participated in the subsidy program, leading to year-on-year sales volume and revenue increases of 42.4% and 46.8%, respectively. Smart glasses have become a popular item in the consumer market.

The expo features a wide range of smart glasses, including consumer-level brands such as Jihuan and Liangliang Vision, as well as industrial smart glasses. The audio, display, and camera functions of these smart glasses continue to improve. Liangliang Vision’s AR glasses weigh only 49 grams and provide real-time AI translation. Guangdong Gudong Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. showcased an optical display solution for AI glasses based on PVG waveguide technology, achieving high brightness, high transparency, and a wide field of view. A representative stated, “We leverage optical materials and precision manufacturing to serve AI glasses manufacturers and brand clients, providing high-performance waveguide sheets and reference designs to enable rapid product development.”

The Alpha S30, developed by Afalon, is a lightweight AR smart glass designed for professional applications in security, industrial operations, and power inspections. Weighing around 50 grams, it features dual diffraction waveguides, 1500 nits brightness, and is equipped with high-definition cameras and AI computing modules that support facial recognition from 10 meters away, real-time target tracking, smart instrument identification, and remote collaborative consultations.

This year’s Beijing Science and Technology Expo aligns with new trends in technology consumption, introducing many technological products into everyday life. The Tianjin exhibition group presented the “Meite AI Smart Mouse,” which integrates AI office functions with wireless routing capabilities to enhance mobile work efficiency. The Tibet exhibition group showcased the “Huaxia Bailing AI Smart Earbuds,” which support real-time translation for three Tibetan dialects and 144 regional languages. The Beijing Xicheng exhibition group exhibited the “Pearl Clip Jewelry-Level Smart Earbuds,” designed specifically for female users, combining AI technology with jewelry aesthetics.

The low-altitude economy is expanding, supported by unprecedented policy benefits and development opportunities. The interest in low-altitude economy applications remains high at this year’s expo. The Chuanqi RS300E, developed by Tianjin Zhuoyue Yihang Low-Altitude Technology Co., Ltd., is a medium-sized fully electric eVTOL designed for modern low-altitude economic applications, offering lightweight construction, high load capacity, extended flight duration, and adaptability to various scenarios.

Tianjin Feima Robotics is a domestic company specializing in low-altitude aerial surveying and remote sensing drones, focusing on the development and production of vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing and professional-grade multi-rotor systems, providing comprehensive solutions for various scenarios. A representative mentioned that “The V600 is Feima Robotics’ new generation of pure electric vertical take-off and landing flagship surveying/remote sensing/patrol system set to be released in 2026, designed to meet high-end operational demands in the low-altitude economy.”

Tonghao Low-Altitude Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. has developed technologies for blind spot-free electrostatic radar fusion detection, real-time perception of electromagnetic suppression, hyperspectral fusion perception for air-based targets, and multi-method directional energy collaborative drone destruction. The representative stated that their products are applied in fields such as rail transportation and urban public safety, with successful implementations in major projects like the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway and Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, identifying thousands of unauthorized drones to ensure safety in low-altitude airspace.

Additionally, the Beijing Shounong Food Group has an indoor inspection drone system capable of automatic cruising and manual control, allowing for comprehensive inspections of grazing areas while transmitting real-time high-definition images to an intelligent analysis platform. Future applications may extend to monitoring the growth of high-value crops such as tomatoes and vegetables.
