Anhui He County TianNeng Battery Base 37.5MW/100.5MWh User-side Energy Storage Project Connected to the Grid
On May 10, the 37.5MW/100.5MWh lithium iron phosphate user-side energy storage project at the TianNeng Battery Base in He County, Ma’anshan City, Anhui Province was successfully connected to the grid. This project, constructed by Zhejiang Rongneng Power Engineering Co., Ltd. and invested in by Zhejiang Tianwang Smart Energy Co., Ltd., operates under a “peak shaving and valley filling” model. This setup effectively adjusts power supply and demand, utilizing price differences to lower electricity costs for businesses, thereby enhancing their competitiveness.
Shanghai Changxing Island 10MW/20MWh User-side Energy Storage Project Initiated
On May 8, the construction of a 10MW/20MWh user-side energy storage project on Changxing Island, Shanghai, commenced at Shanghai COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry. The energy storage station consists of four storage systems, four prefabricated warehouses, and four booster transformers, with a construction period of approximately five months. During periods of sufficient and low electricity supply from the grid, the storage facility will convert AC electricity to DC for storage, and during peak demand or high pricing periods, it will revert back to AC for grid usage. Once operational, this project will alleviate grid load pressure for COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry and optimize power resource allocation.
600MW/1.2GWh! Yunnan’s Largest Centralized Shared Energy Storage Project Connected to the Grid
Recently, the Yunnan Baoshan Water Chang, a 600MW/1200MWh energy storage station, was officially commissioned and connected to the grid. This facility is the largest centralized shared energy storage project in Yunnan Province and is expected to provide over 300 million kilowatt-hours of peak-shaving capacity annually, significantly promoting regional energy structure optimization and green low-carbon development.
First 100MW Independent Energy Storage Station in Gansu Completed
On April 29, Gansu’s first 100MW independent energy storage station, the Tongwei Yihengchen 100MW/400MWh project, was completed in Dongguan Village, Maying Town, Tongwei County. This project, invested and constructed by Gansu Tongwei Yihengchen New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., has a total investment of 800 million RMB and occupies an area of 39 acres.
Ronghe Yuanshu 200MW/400MWh Independent Energy Storage Project Signed
On May 13, the government of Hukou County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, signed an investment agreement for a 200MW/400MWh independent energy storage project with Shanghai Ronghe Yuanshu Energy Co., Ltd. The total investment for this project is expected to be 500 million RMB, and once fully operational, it will generate an annual output value of 50 million RMB and approximately 6.5 million RMB in tax revenue.
Inner Mongolia Bayannur 100MW/400MWh Independent Energy Storage Project Launched
On May 13, the commencement ceremony for a 100MW/400MWh energy storage project, part of the Ulat Front’s Delingshan 500kV substation, was held in Bayannur, Inner Mongolia. This project utilizes lithium iron phosphate storage technology and includes a smart energy management system to provide efficient peak shaving, frequency regulation, and emergency backup capabilities.
Yunnan Xinping 200MW/400MWh Battery Storage Demonstration Project Completed
Recently, the 200MW/400MWh lithium-ion battery storage demonstration project in Xinping County, Yunnan Province, was completed. This project is among the first batch of new type energy storage pilot demonstration projects in Yunnan, marking a significant milestone in the region’s energy transition.
1.2GW/3.9GWh! Largest Energy Storage Project in the Southern Hemisphere Signed
Recently, a strategic cooperation signing ceremony was held in Suzhou between China Storage Technology, Huichuan Technology, and Australia’s Genaspi Energy Group Pty LTD for the Bundey Project. The project, with a planned capacity of 1.2GW/3.9GWh, will enhance Australia’s renewable energy absorption capacity and contribute to its 2030 emission reduction targets.
7.5MW/15MWh! CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Zero Carbon Industrial Park Project Connected to the Grid
The Hunan CRRC Times Electric Zero Carbon Industrial Park project successfully connected to the grid after a rapid 37-day delivery period, launching on April 30. This project innovatively integrates building and photovoltaic technologies to supply green energy, with a total capacity of approximately 9.93MWp and a complementary 7.5MW/15MWh commercial energy storage station.
715MW/1415MWh! Key Engineering Projects in Shanxi Province Announced for 2025
On May 11, the Shanxi Province government released the list of key engineering projects for 2025, which includes three energy storage projects: a 100MW photovoltaic energy storage integrated project in Huairen City, a 300MW/600MWh shared energy storage station in Xinhua Power, and a 400MW/800MWh independent energy storage project in Shanyin, totaling 715MW/1415MWh.
60MWh! Zhejiang’s First “Electric Storage + Water Cooling” Smart Energy Hub Project Launched
On May 13, the groundbreaking ceremony for the 60MWh electric storage and water cooling project, led by the Zhejiang Jinyi Industrial Investment Group, was held in Jinyi New District. This pioneering demonstration project in Zhejiang Province integrates both energy storage and water cooling, achieving optimized coordination between electrical frequency regulation and water cooling peak shaving.
First Super Capacitor Hybrid Energy Storage Frequency Regulation Project in Shaanxi Completed
On May 9, the first “super capacitor + lithium battery” hybrid energy storage frequency regulation project in Shaanxi was completed by Xian Thermal Engineering Institute at Huaneng Tongchuan Zhaojin Coal Power Co., Ltd. This project represents a key step for Shaanxi in integrating flexible thermal power transformation with new energy storage technologies.
100MW Wind + Storage Integrated Demonstration Project Fully Connected to Grid
Recently, the 100MW “Wind + Storage” integrated demonstration project in Julu County, Xingtai City, Hebei Province, constructed by China Power Construction Hebei Engineering Company, achieved full-capacity grid connection. This project is expected to save approximately 69,300 tons of standard coal annually and reduce CO2 emissions by about 254,200 tons, significantly improving regional air quality.
100MW/200MWh! Hunan Xiangxiang Economic Development Zone Energy Storage Station Fully Connected to Grid
On May 15, the 100MW/200MWh energy storage station in the Economic Development Zone of Xiangxiang City, Hunan Province, was fully connected to the grid after installation and testing. This project, occupying an area of 13,000 square meters, is one of the largest energy storage stations in Hunan Province, featuring 60 container-type battery units and 30 PCS integrated AC/DC conversion units.
Full Capacity of the First New Energy Supporting Electrochemical Storage Project in the Yangtze Power Jinxia Base Connected to the Grid
Recently, the storage system of the Yangjiazhuang photovoltaic project at the Jinxia Base was fully connected to the grid, marking it as the first electrochemical storage project to be implemented at this site. The system uses high-voltage liquid-cooled lithium iron phosphate battery packs, enhancing energy density while reducing construction costs.
