Automobile manufacturing is entering a new phase of rapid transformation. Recently, Longcheng Automobile launched a new platform dubbed the “Smart AI Motion Power Platform,” which focuses on advanced technologies. This platform aims to drive discussions around new energy technology pathways, smart driving battles, and the competition landscape in the automotive industry.

Following the launch event, Longcheng Automobile’s general manager accepted an interview with the Daily Economic News, where he provided insights into the platform’s technological advancements, engineering breakthroughs, and competitive strategies. He emphasized that “the Motion Power Platform is not merely a technological endeavor but a response to a pressing industry issue—a lack of a unified energy standard that meets user expectations for high efficiency and performance.”

In the face of the growing demand for energy-efficient vehicles, the new energy vehicle market in China has been expanding rapidly. According to recent statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, by 2025, it is projected that the production volume of new energy vehicles in China will reach 16.49 million units, with pure electric vehicles accounting for over 10.6 million units, representing a growth rate of approximately 64.3%. Meanwhile, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles are expected to see a growth rate of 35.7%, reaching about 5.9 million units.

As a representative of the hybrid electric vehicle segment, Longcheng’s focus on plug-in hybrid technologies has attracted increasing attention. The company’s products, especially those utilizing the DM-i/DM-p technology, are expected to dominate the large-scale market.

Longcheng aims to enhance its systems to ensure that they can operate effectively under high-speed conditions. As Longcheng’s general manager stated, “High-speed scenarios present unique challenges, and hybrid systems must be capable of delivering high energy efficiency even in such environments.” He noted that in high-speed scenarios, the performance of hybrid systems achieves a level of energy efficiency that is at least 15% higher than that of their purely electric counterparts.

At the event, Longcheng also unveiled its latest vehicle models, including hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), battery electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. The company’s new platform is designed to integrate these various power sources seamlessly.

“This is not about simply pushing a product; it is about fundamentally rethinking our manufacturing processes,” the general manager emphasized. He further explained that the platform must incorporate effective governance and long-term operational capabilities. The hybrid system’s design necessitates a comprehensive approach that addresses user needs and energy efficiency challenges.

Looking forward, Longcheng plans to introduce its new energy vehicles in the third quarter of 2026, with a goal of producing 1.8 million units. The general manager expressed confidence in the future of the automotive market, asserting that “the key to success lies in addressing the diverse demands of different markets and ensuring our technology aligns with evolving user expectations.” He highlighted the importance of continuous innovation and adaptation in a competitive landscape.
