JA Solar, a leading provider in the photovoltaic solutions sector, participated in the 2025 United Nations Climate Change Summit, showcasing its practical experiences and efforts in sustainable development and addressing climate change. The brand’s President and Chief Sustainability Officer, Li Jing, was invited to attend the summit and spoke at several high-level United Nations meetings.

During the summit, at the session focused on “Avoiding Emissions,” JA Solar released its first Environmental Sustainability Report and introduced its ambitious 4F environmental climate strategy, aimed at faster, stronger, fairer, and more sustainable practices. This strategy is based on a model that adheres to the latest global disclosure requirements and addresses five core environmental issues. The report systematically discloses corresponding risk and opportunity analyses, management practices, and target metrics. This not only provides a clear path for JA Solar’s own green and low-carbon transformation but also serves as a reference for global photovoltaic companies to systematically engage in sustainable practices.

In terms of responsibility, JA Solar shared its commitments during discussions on just transitions. The company has established a responsible supply chain system that includes supplier admission policies, risk identification and monitoring, corrective actions, and remedial measures. By 2025, JA Solar has provided ESG training to over 400 suppliers. Additionally, the company has set up a systematic human rights due diligence mechanism, regularly conducting human rights risk screenings and assessments across its operations and supply chains. These initiatives are designed to enhance the sustainability capabilities of suppliers, strengthen supply chain resilience, and reduce operational risks.

In a collaborative effort, JA Solar shared its practices at the “Empower the Future” meeting held at the United Nations Headquarters, where it joined forces with 28 upstream and downstream companies in the photovoltaic supply chain to build a global photovoltaic industry sustainable development alliance (GSSA). The GSSA aims to continuously strengthen interactions with global stakeholders and promote sustainability across all segments of the value chain.

The United Nations Climate Change Summit was convened by UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, focusing on leaders’ updates and commitments regarding Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). Moving forward, JA Solar will support the growth of renewable energy through technological innovation and ESG practices, thereby providing a solid industrial foundation for global carbon neutrality.
