Germany Unveils 9MWh High-Capacity Energy Storage System to Enhance Renewable Energy Integration

Germany

Hengde Times has announced the deployment of its new energy storage system with a capacity of 9 MWh. This system is part of a broader strategy aimed at enhancing energy storage capabilities.

On May 7, 2025, Hengde Times revealed the launch of the TENER Stack, which features a significant energy storage capacity of 9 MWh. This innovative system is designed to improve efficiency, safety, and operational metrics while significantly reducing the overall footprint.

The TENER Stack utilizes advanced high-capacity lithium-ion batteries, boasting a five-year degradation specification. Compared to traditional 20-foot container systems, the TENER Stack’s volume is 45% more efficient, and its energy density is improved by 50%.

This energy storage system can power approximately 150 electric vehicles simultaneously. The large capacity of the TENER Stack also contributes to lower operational costs by optimizing system performance.

By implementing an 800 MWh energy storage capacity, TENER Stack requires only one-sixth of the battery container quantity compared to traditional systems with 6 MWh capacities. This increase in efficiency is expected to enhance utilization rates by 40%, leading to a potential 20% reduction in construction costs for power plants.

To comply with the regulatory requirements of 36 countries, Hengde Times has developed a “Two in One” model, ensuring that each high-capacity unit is strictly regulated below 36 degrees Celsius. This ensures adherence to 99% of market transportation regulations.

Additionally, the new design allows for various transportation methods, not limited to high-capacity vehicles. It can also reduce operational costs by 35%.

With improved design for seismic resilience and enhanced flexibility, the TENER Stack can withstand severe weather conditions and is designed to meet the latest IEEE 693 seismic standards, allowing it to endure 9 levels of seismic activity and 5 levels of wind pressure.

As of November 2023, the energy storage system from Hengde Times has been applied to over 1,700 projects, showcasing its capability in various demanding environments.

The deployment of the TENER Stack is set to enhance the operational efficiency of Hengde Times’ energy cooperative ventures, providing more sustainable and continuous energy supply in smaller spatial footprints.
