On May 27, during the “Green Electricity Enters Enterprises, Services Enter Parks” event organized by Changzhou Power Supply, it was announced that Changzhou City will expand the construction of microgrid demonstration projects in various parks and industrial enterprises, aiming to establish 20 new demonstration projects by the end of this year.
The “I Want to Build a Microgrid” comprehensive service platform focuses on typical elements and scenarios of microgrids, providing customized electricity “health reports” for power customers and intelligently recommending microgrid solutions. Since its launch in February this year, the platform has served 230 customers, generated 113 personalized energy reports, and promoted 106 recommended microgrid solutions.
The microgrid at the Wujin National High-tech Zone Innovation Industrial Park is the largest industrial park-level microgrid in Jiangsu Province, covering an area of 370,000 square meters with an annual electricity consumption of approximately 42 million kilowatt-hours. It features 1.61 megawatts of distributed photovoltaic energy and 6,035 kilowatts/10,660 kilowatt-hours of energy storage, providing stable and reliable green energy for buildings, factories, and electric vehicles. This microgrid has also implemented multiple technology verification demonstrations, offering replicable and scalable technical solutions for the development of green, near-zero carbon industrial parks.
Li Min, Director of the Marketing Department of State Grid Changzhou Power Supply, stated that the company will leverage its power supply service centers to create more microgrid showcase windows. This initiative aims to provide technical support and guidance for microgrid construction and operations, enhance services for new business models such as virtual power plants, and encourage more users to participate regularly in ancillary services and the spot market. The goal is to contribute more of Changzhou’s experiences to the province’s microgrid development.
At the event, Changzhou Power Supply also released its 2024 Social Responsibility Report. This marks the 14th consecutive year that Changzhou Power Supply has published a written report detailing its past year’s commitments, actions, performance, and pledges. This effort aims to deepen communication and cooperation with various sectors of society, enhance value recognition, and continually gather momentum for sustainable development.
Additionally, the report shared the successful implementation of a near-zero carbon industrial park microgrid in the Zhongan Village Innovation Park in Liyang, featuring five core functions: energy autonomy, panoramic monitoring, cost reduction and efficiency improvement, supply assurance and greening, and interactive microgrid integration. The “Electric Vehicle Magic Cube” in Jintan integrates off-peak electricity, industrial waste heat, and photovoltaic energy, forming a “large photovoltaic, large thermal storage” model that enhances the green energy ratio for enterprises and initiates a new model for commercial operations through “joint entrepreneurship.” These are two exemplary cases of responsible practices.
The new “Chang Le Electric” IP image was also unveiled, achieving a synergistic development between the brand and its services, effectively shaping a “reliable and trustworthy” corporate image and social reputation, while underscoring the responsibility of the power grid enterprise as a critical support structure.
