2026 Chengdu International Industrial Expo Opens, Showcasing Innovations Across the Entire Industry Chain

On March 11, the 2026 Chengdu International Industrial Expo (referred to as “Chengdu Expo”) kicked off at the China West International Expo City. As the largest and most influential industrial event in Southwest China, the expo attracted over 800 renowned enterprises from both domestic and international markets to participate.

This year’s theme, “Creating New Industries, Building a New Future for Carbon Emission Reduction,” focuses on two main areas: intelligent manufacturing and green transformation. The expo aims to empower the high-quality development of manufacturing in Central and Western China, facilitating the upgrade of the western industrial sector towards higher-end, intelligent, and eco-friendly production.

Seven Thematic Exhibition Areas Highlighting Innovations

In the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan, China’s manufacturing industry is accelerating its transition into a new stage of “comprehensive intelligent integration.” Information technology is deeply penetrating the manufacturing process, with continued collaborative innovation across the industry chain. The Chengdu Expo features seven thematic exhibition areas: industrial automation, CNC machine tools and metal processing, robotics, new-generation information technology and applications, new materials and energy-saving industrial accessories, and the Sichuan industrial chain exhibition, showcasing the entire industry’s innovative achievements and promoting the deep integration of new technologies with industry.

Forums and Networking Events

The event will host several high-level forums and networking activities, such as the “Science and Technology Exchange” cross-regional event, the Sichuan-Chongqing Industrial Intelligent Transformation Conference, and the “East Data West Computing” summit focusing on empowering green and intelligent industrial transformation. Industry experts and leaders from benchmark companies will share insights on hot topics such as electronic information, equipment manufacturing, digital economy, and integrated circuits, helping professionals grasp trends and broaden their horizons.

Showcasing Humanoid Robots and Intelligent Manufacturing

The excitement surrounding humanoid robots, initially sparked during the Spring Festival Gala, continues at the Chengdu Expo. The robotics exhibition area has transformed into a showcase for humanoid robots and a platform for presenting the latest advancements in intelligent manufacturing. The entire industry chain is represented, featuring industrial robots, collaborative robots, core components, special robots, humanoid robots, mobile robots, and system solutions, highlighting cutting-edge technologies and their latest applications across various sectors.

Market Expansion Through Networking

As one of the thematic exhibition areas, the Sichuan industrial chain exhibition includes specialized zones for hydrogen energy, rail transport and new energy engineering equipment, zero-carbon industrial parks, and future industry exploration. Over 120 upstream and downstream enterprises from Sichuan participated, systematically showcasing the province’s progress in strengthening and supplementing key industrial chains while fostering new productive capacities.

For example, the hydrogen energy exhibition area presents an integrated industry chain covering key processes such as renewable energy electrolysis for hydrogen production, hydrogen storage containers, complete hydrogen refueling station equipment, fuel cell stacks and systems, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, and hydrogen energy metallurgy demonstration applications. This area comprehensively displays Sichuan’s hydrogen energy industry’s ecosystem, from core equipment to diverse application scenarios.

On the morning of the 11th, numerous enterprises arrived to engage in networking and discussions. During a busy moment, Tang Yujun, Director of the Technology Center at Hupu Clean Energy Group Co., Ltd., shared, “We brought our integrated intelligent equipment for water electrolysis hydrogen production and methanol hydrogen production. We hope to display our latest products at this expo and enhance our industry visibility.”

Ji Xingguang, a senior engineer in the photovoltaic business department at Tongwei Co., pointed to a photovoltaic module and stated, “This is currently a mainstream photovoltaic product. Our participation in the Chengdu Expo aims to expand our market and establish potential collaborations.”

In front of large intelligent equipment, Qiu Chengbing, Executive Vice President of Sichuan Xinzhu Intelligent Engineering Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd., had just concluded discussions with partners. “Our arch support anchor installation vehicle and other equipment achieve full mechanization in anchor rod construction, significantly improving efficiency in road and rail tunnel projects. This year, we aim to further penetrate the water conservancy and hydropower sectors, promoting intelligent and green development in these industries.”
