Zhongtian Construction Vessel Sets New Benchmark in Offshore Wind Power Installation – Recently, Zhongtian Technology Group announced that the “Zhongtian 39” construction vessel, responsible for the Cangnan No. 1 Offshore Wind Power Phase II Expansion Project by China Resources Power, has successfully completed the first phase of foundation construction after more than 50 days of continuous work. Since the project’s inception, Zhongtian Technology rapidly assembled a specialized team, accomplishing the vessel’s deployment in just 21 days.
During the construction process, the “Zhongtian 39” utilized a DP dynamic positioning system, a relatively rare approach in domestic offshore wind foundation work. To address the challenges posed by the lack of mature case studies and the need for personnel adaptation, the project team innovatively applied the “Dynamic Construction Method under Wind and Waves.” Leveraging the vessel’s lifting capacity of 5,000 tons, centimeter-level positioning accuracy, and superior stability, they achieved a 20% increase in effective working time, with an average piling efficiency that reached industry-leading levels.
Moreover, the project established a comprehensive safety management mechanism, integrating diverse control models. This included a fusion of safety culture construction and digital tools, maximizing safety benefits throughout the construction period. The project received joint recognition from the owner, general contractor, and supervisory units, setting a new benchmark for construction efficiency in similar projects.
The “Zhongtian 39” measures 215 meters in length, 51.8 meters in width, and 19 meters in depth, with a deck designed to support a load of 15 tons per square meter across an area of approximately 4,000 square meters. It is equipped with a fixed stern crane capable of lifting 5,000 tons and a full rotation crane with a lifting capacity of 3,500 tons. This exceptional lifting capability positions it as a leader in the domestic offshore wind power foundation construction, large transformer station installations, and deep-sea wind farm projects.
