In a significant advancement for the electric vehicle infrastructure in Zhongshan, the first supercharging station equipped with Huawei’s complete “solar-storage-charging” solution was officially launched on the morning of May 15. This station, located on Chengnan Road in the Nanshan District, was developed by Zhongshan Public Energy Development Co., Ltd.
The newly operational supercharging station features a 600 kW all-liquid cooling supercharging system capable of achieving a “15-minute rapid energy replenishment,” marking a major step forward in Zhongshan’s efforts to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of its electric vehicle charging network.
The station is designed to accommodate 24 fast charging parking spots, integrating photovoltaic power generation, energy storage systems, and supercharging equipment, thus creating a closed-loop system of “generation-storage-usage.” The roof of the carport is equipped with 68 solar panels and a Huawei 36 kW solar inverter, which prioritize the conversion of solar energy into electricity to meet the station’s power needs.
Additionally, the energy storage system takes advantage of peak and off-peak electricity pricing for industrial users, allowing for “low-cost overnight electricity storage and high-demand daytime supply.” An intelligent energy management platform dynamically allocates power resources, effectively reducing operational costs.
The Huawei all-liquid cooling supercharging technology utilizes a split-type DC bus architecture, which enhances efficiency through liquid cooling and power distribution modules, ensuring charging safety. It supports a wide voltage range of 200-1000V and is compatible with mainstream new energy vehicles.
As a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Zhongshan Public Utilities Group, Zhongshan Public Energy has consistently focused on the dual carbon targets, actively exploring innovative applications of green energy. The company has previously launched multiple photovoltaic charging piles in several key areas of Zhongshan, creating a matrix of applications combining “solar-storage-charging with diverse scenarios.”
The establishment of this supercharging station represents another successful endeavor by Zhongshan Public Energy in promoting the city’s low-carbon transformation. The company aims to become a “comprehensive service provider for urban green development,” focusing on facilitating the city’s low-carbon transition by building an integrated service system encompassing “source-network-load-storage-carbon-data.” This system will provide an end-to-end solution for energy production, consumption, management, energy-saving renovations, digital twins, and carbon management, thus fostering the development of a green smart city and sustainable growth.
Notably, in April of this year, Zhongshan Public Energy signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Torch Industrial Group to officially launch the construction of a zero-carbon demonstration park. This initiative will provide technical support and scenario validation for the large-scale application of virtual power plants. A representative from Zhongshan Public Energy indicated that the company will accelerate the deployment of “solar-storage-charging integrated” supercharging stations in various towns and districts, injecting strong momentum into the promotion of new energy vehicles.
