On May 22, the Yunnan Heqing Songgui Photovoltaic Power Generation Project, constructed by China Energy Engineering Group Gezhouba Company, successfully achieved full-capacity grid connection. This large-scale photovoltaic power station, designed with a capacity of 80 MW, has demonstrated an impressive real-time output of 76.43 MW, resulting in an output rate exceeding 95%. This milestone signifies the project’s successful attainment of high-quality full-capacity grid connection.
Located in Songgui Town, Heqing County, Dali Prefecture, the project benefits from a favorable environment with an average elevation of approximately 2200 meters, providing ideal conditions for solar power generation. The approved installed capacity on the AC side is 80 MW, while the planned capacity on the DC side reaches 96.014 MW. The full-capacity grid connection encompasses a 220 kV boosting station and the entire photovoltaic area, marking significant scale. Once fully operational, it is expected to generate an annual electricity output of 144,579.649 MWh, with an average annual utilization of about 1486 hours, greatly contributing to the ecological improvement and sustainable development of the Heqing region.
Throughout the construction process, the project encountered numerous challenges. The complex terrain of the plateau led to unpredictable weather, slow logistics, and difficulties in material transportation, compounded by tight schedules and frequent rain and snow. The project team leveraged their expertise in the renewable energy sector to address these logistical issues innovatively by utilizing drone transportation. They implemented three-dimensional flight path planning and obstacle avoidance radar systems to ensure safe operations, creating a comprehensive project execution system that integrates “aerial” intelligent material delivery with “ground” collaborative construction. This approach not only resolved transportation challenges but also minimized the ecological impact of construction, providing valuable replicable technical experience for future photovoltaic projects in high-altitude and complex terrains.
The successful full-capacity grid connection of the Yunnan Heqing Songgui Photovoltaic Power Generation Project has yielded significant benefits. Environmentally, the project is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by over 119,000 tons annually, which is equivalent to the carbon sequestration effect of planting 6.5 million mature trees. Additionally, it will save approximately 43,000 tons of standard coal, substantially lowering traditional energy consumption and playing a critical role in protecting the plateau’s ecological environment.
Economically, the project is projected to generate over 10 million yuan in clean electricity taxes each year, driving upgrades in local infrastructure such as roads and power grids, and promoting regional economic development. The accompanying agricultural facilities will also support the development of plateau-specific animal husbandry, fostering a “pasture and solar” complementary sustainable development model that provides robust support for consolidating poverty alleviation efforts and achieving common prosperity in Heqing County.
