The State Grid Yuhuan is leading the charge in integrating distributed photovoltaic (PV) systems, significantly contributing to the achievement of the “dual carbon” goals. On April 21, 2025, at the rooftop of the Zhejiang Qixing Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., 1,928 deep blue solar panels cascaded across 12,000 square meters, creating a vibrant “energy blue sea” that sparkled under the sunlight. The administrative manager, Que Dingkui, enthusiastically discussed the “sunshine economic benefits” with employees from the State Grid Yuhuan Power Supply Company who were there to perform a PV equipment inspection.

Distributed PV is a vital force in the energy transition. Since becoming a pilot county for the comprehensive rooftop distributed PV development program in June 2021, Yuhuan has implemented related plans to enhance policy support. The city has innovatively built a development model characterized by <b>government-led coordination, state-owned capital investment, resource leasing by owners,</b> and enterprise operation and maintenance. Thanks to the diverse construction results of distributed PV systems on rooftops of businesses, public buildings, and residential areas, Yuhuan has delivered an impressive performance in green and low-carbon development. Recently, the <b>National Energy Administration</b> recognized Yuhuan as a county that has fully achieved the pilot goals for comprehensive rooftop distributed PV development, making it the only area in Taizhou to be selected.

The rooftop PV station at <b>Zhejiang Qixing Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd.</b> generates nearly 1 million kilowatt-hours annually, accounting for 20% of the company's total electricity consumption. This facility utilizes a self-consumption model, where excess electricity is fed back into the grid. In Yuhuan, similar PV application cases abound. The <b>Taizhou Yuantuo Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd.</b> has installed a distributed PV system on the rooftop of its machining workshop, generating over 10,000 kilowatt-hours each month, which meets about 10% of the company's electricity needs annually. Meanwhile, <b>Zhejiang Futenbao Household Products Co., Ltd.</b> has blue solar panels on its parking lot that provide 4.3 million kilowatt-hours of "green electricity" each year. By prioritizing the use of this green energy, the company can reduce its carbon emissions by approximately 2,800 tons per year, equivalent to planting 150,000 trees, with a cumulative carbon reduction of 70,000 tons over the next 25 years.

The rapid advancement of PV projects is supported by the dedicated services of the power supply company. To ensure efficient implementation of these projects, <b>The State Grid Yuhuan Power Supply Company</b> has established a green channel that offers one-on-one tracking services from business acceptance, scheme design, to grid connection acceptance. Power supply employees also conduct monthly inspections of PV equipment, checking for line hazards to ensure safe and reliable electricity use for enterprises.

As of now, the total installed capacity of distributed PV in Yuhuan has reached <b>483,000 kilowatts</b>, with an additional <b>148,000 kilowatts</b> added in 2024, and an annual electricity generation that has surpassed <b>350 million kilowatt-hours</b>. The application scenarios for PV have expanded beyond industrial plants to encompass the entire community—solar panels atop government office buildings have transformed into a "Sunshine Government Hall," while rooftop PV systems at supermarkets and hotels serve as "carbon reduction business cards." Residential complexes, schools, hospitals, and other public venues have also joined the "light-chasing" movement, forming community microgrids that utilize the "self-consumption + excess electricity sharing" model.
