As the popularity of new energy vehicles (NEVs) continues to rise, the demand for charging stations has become a necessity for urban residents. This year, the Yizheng Urban Development Group has focused on addressing public needs by accelerating the construction of charging stations. They have added four charging sites and 38 charging piles, effectively alleviating residents’ concerns about charging availability.
Recently, at the fast-charging station in the Financial Cluster Area, silver-gray charging piles were neatly arranged, with black and white charging guns connected to a steady stream of NEVs, all being charged efficiently in a bustling and orderly environment. Sheng Jie, the general manager of Yizheng City Hengyuan Industrial Investment Development Co., Ltd., stated, “The charging price at the Financial Cluster Area is 0.95 yuan per kWh, with one liquid-cooled supercharger and seven fast chargers available, operating 24 hours a day. We will adjust the charging prices as needed based on operational conditions.”
In addition to the fast-charging station in the Financial Cluster Area, Hengyuan Industrial Company has also constructed slow-charging stations at the City Management Bureau, Huimin Garden, and Hongqi E District, all of which are now operational. Currently, the city has a total of one liquid-cooled supercharger, seven fast chargers, and 30 slow chargers to meet the different charging needs of vehicle owners. Sheng Jie mentioned, “The price for the City Management Bureau slow charger is 0.98 yuan per kWh, while the Huimin Garden and Hongqi E District implement peak and off-peak pricing: from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, it is 0.88 yuan per kWh, and from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM the following day, it is 0.68 yuan per kWh. All stations are open 24 hours.”
Despite the increase in the number of charging stations, some vehicle owners still face challenges in finding available chargers. During a recent visit, it was observed that non-electric vehicles often occupy charging spots, and some fully charged vehicles remain parked for extended periods. In response, Hengyuan Industrial Company has implemented a fee for exceeding the parking time after charging. Sheng Jie explained, “If a vehicle does not move 30 minutes after being fully charged, a fee of 0.2 yuan per minute will apply. In areas with significant parking issues, such as parks and shopping centers, we plan to install smart locks and barriers to better regulate parking.”
With an emphasis on improving public services, Hengyuan Industrial Company aims to increase investments in charging infrastructure, optimize station layouts, and enhance service efficiency. Sheng Jie added, “In the next phase, we plan to build six new charging stations, including three fast chargers, two slow chargers, and one combined fast and slow charging station, totaling around 61 charging piles. We expect to complete this by the end of July, focusing on areas like parks, shopping centers, and residential complexes. Residents can follow the Yizheng Urban Development Group’s official account for the latest updates.”
