Three-Year Warranty and New Battery: Will Yadea’s Crown S Series Become a Sensation?

On May 26, 2025, Yadea unveiled its new TTFAR Evergreen Range Extending System during the “Beyond Expectations” launch event for the Crown S series in Guangdong. This new system enhances battery longevity and range, addressing long-standing concerns in the electric vehicle market about battery performance. Yadea now offers a three-year warranty on its new generation of batteries.

Regardless of whether it’s two-wheelers or four-wheelers, battery life and range continue to be significant challenges for users. The energy density is hard to improve, and limited range dictates how far users can travel. Rapid health degradation of batteries and the sudden loss of power while driving can be frustrating. Additionally, temperature extremes can affect battery performance, and fast charging can accelerate wear and tear. Despite market discussions, issues surrounding battery life and range remain unresolved.

In 2020, Yadea introduced its first-generation TTFAR range extension system along with TTFAR graphene batteries, which boast a lifespan three times that of traditional lead-acid batteries and support one-hour fast charging. These innovations addressed the short range and lifespan of two-wheel electric vehicles at the time. Now, with the new TTFAR Evergreen Range Extending System, Yadea aims to elevate battery performance even further.

Yadea’s goal, as indicated by the theme of the launch event, is to create electric vehicles that perform well regardless of age, encapsulated in the motto “New Cars Go Far, Old Cars Go Far Too.” So, how does Yadea plan to tackle the range anxiety prevalent in the electric vehicle market with its new technology?

Second-Generation Evergreen Ivy Battery: A Solution to Range Anxiety?

Many users of two-wheel electric vehicles have likely experienced a decline in range after a year or two of use, requiring more frequent charging and sometimes facing unexpected power loss while riding. Currently, market demand for two-wheel electric vehicles centers primarily on range.

Yadea’s second-generation Evergreen Ivy graphene battery addresses two main issues of traditional lead-acid batteries: the degradation of the positive plate grid and the crystallization of lead sulfate. In conventional lead-acid batteries, the positive plate material is lead dioxide, while the negative is metallic lead. Over time, electrochemical corrosion can cause the active material to detach, decreasing battery capacity. Furthermore, improper charging can lead to the formation of large lead sulfate crystals, increasing internal resistance and permanently reducing capacity. This decline in battery life not only affects range but also increases energy consumption during operation.

To combat these issues, Yadea’s self-developed second-generation Evergreen Ivy graphene battery features eight major advancements in material purity and employs patented vacuum atomization techniques to create a new graphene formula. This battery also utilizes a ribbed grid structure and dual-layer AGM separator technology, resulting in lead purity exceeding 99.99% and a 20% increase in thickness. As a result, the second-generation Evergreen Ivy battery is significantly more stable, durable, and resistant to degradation compared to its predecessor.

At the launch, Yadea demonstrated the comparison between the grid structures of traditional batteries and the Evergreen Ivy battery after one year of use. The grid structure of the traditional battery was visibly damaged, while the Evergreen Ivy battery maintained a clear texture.

According to Han Yixi, Vice President of Global Products and Technology at Yadea Technology Group, traditional lead-acid batteries typically endure 240-300 charge cycles. The previous generation of Evergreen Ivy graphene batteries achieved over 600 cycles, while the second generation exceeds 800 cycles. Coupled with the TTFAR Turbo charger equipped with an AI control chip, Yadea enhances charging logic through software algorithms to prevent overcharging, thus optimizing battery health without requiring users to adjust their charging habits.

Yadea also offers a robust three-year warranty. From the date of purchase, if the battery lifespan falls below 80% within 24 months or 20,000 kilometers, users can receive a replacement. If the battery lifespan falls below 70% within 36 months or 30,000 kilometers, a free replacement is provided.

Yadea’s vision of an electric vehicle that remains efficient over time reflects a comprehensive upgrade of the entire battery system rather than just a single technological breakthrough. Longer range and battery life address deeper market concerns regarding electric vehicle performance. Yadea aims to continuously optimize the structure and materials of electric vehicle batteries and leverage AI software algorithms to alleviate range anxiety while ensuring consistent performance across various conditions.
