On April 10, Envision Energy officially launched the world’s first intelligent energy storage system, the EN 8 Pro, in Beijing. This cutting-edge device leverages AI technology and features integrated Trade Agent and Grid Agent functionalities, facilitating autonomous and efficient interactions between energy storage, power markets, and power systems. The launch aims to support the transformation towards cleaner and smarter energy systems.

The EN 8 Pro is built on a standard 20-foot container with an 8MWh+ system, equipped with Envision’s 700Ah+ energy storage cells. It boasts a cycle life of up to 15,000 cycles. With a system energy density of 541 kWh/㎡, it significantly reduces the cost of energy over its entire lifecycle.

Within the intelligent energy storage system, the Envision Trade Agent incorporates various specialized AI models. Through a matrix of these models, the system automatically integrates weather data, market information, electricity price curves, and load forecasts to deliver accurate predictions of peak and off-peak electricity prices. For instance, Envision’s dedicated AI weather model enhances prediction accuracy by 30% compared to traditional sources, while high-precision weather forecasts improve the accuracy of new energy power predictions. Additionally, the AI load prediction model achieves over 97% accuracy in load forecasting.

By synthesizing power and load forecasts with multi-source information from site-level and provincial data, the Envision Trade Agent can predict day-ahead and real-time electricity prices with over 90% accuracy—exceeding the industry average by 5-10 percentage points.

Based on precise electricity price forecasts, the Envision Trade Agent automatically integrates real-time device status information and regional trading strategy models to generate AI trading strategies, enabling automated reporting and control. It also reviews trading results to continuously optimize strategies. Furthermore, the Envision Trade Agent connects trading, production, and operations to ensure optimal lifecycle returns through intelligent scheduling.

With a higher proportion of renewable energy, the increased system inertia will influence the secure and stable operation of power systems. High-frequency trading of large-scale renewable energy in the market may introduce new steady-state and transient characteristics, leading to more voltage and frequency disturbances.

Envision Energy is advancing the integration of AI and grid construction technology by upgrading to a Grid Agent based on its proprietary GenGrid technology. This enhancement merges the Galileo grid perception system, the Kongming weather prediction model, control algorithm models, and trading intelligence into four key modules. Utilizing a data and model dual-engine approach, the Grid Agent generates autonomous and precise grid construction solutions.

The Envision Grid Agent possesses self-perception, self-adaptation, and self-evolution capabilities, allowing it to monitor multi-source grid data in real-time and update core parameters such as voltage, current, frequency, and harmonics within milliseconds. It employs dynamic adjustment and robust control to achieve coordinated self-tuning of damping inertia and virtual impedance with seamless switching between strong, weak, and off-grid modes. By constructing a digital twin model based on real-time operational data, it can autonomously optimize control strategies without human intervention.

As the proportion of renewable energy continues to rise, the significance of integrated solutions based on AI and energy storage, referred to as “energy storage +”, becomes increasingly prominent. In the power market, combining different generation curves can create higher revenue opportunities. Moreover, off-grid and source-grid-load-storage systems will emerge as vital components of new power systems and energy frameworks.

Utilizing Envision’s intelligent energy storage and system-level capabilities, the company offers comprehensive “energy storage +” solutions, including wind-storage, solar-storage, and source-grid-load-storage systems.
