The world’s first 2000-volt photovoltaic verification certification base has been established in Hainan. This announcement was made during the “Photovoltaic Verification Certification and 2000-volt Photovoltaic Technology Innovation Seminar” co-hosted by the China Quality Certification Center and other organizations. The base was officially inaugurated in Wenchang City and is constructed and operated by Datang Hainan Energy Development Co., Ltd.. This facility is equipped with the ability to collect data throughout its entire lifecycle and conduct systematic performance evaluations, representing a significant breakthrough in the field of high-voltage photovoltaic verification in China.
Currently, the photovoltaic industry is undergoing a high-quality transformation but faces challenges with the promotion of high-voltage technologies like the 2000-volt system, which lacks a unified standard system. Despite the advantages of the 2000-volt photovoltaic technology in reducing cable usage and lowering electricity costs compared to the traditional 1500-volt system, the long-term operational stability, adaptability to extreme environments, and equipment compatibility still require authoritative verification.
The Datang Wenchang Photovoltaic Verification Base will systematically conduct long-term reliability tests of photovoltaic products under typical climatic conditions characterized by high temperatures, high humidity, and high salt mist. By standardizing testing boundary conditions and continuously monitoring over 20 parameters, including power generation performance and irradiance, the base will provide scientific outdoor operational data for critical equipment such as photovoltaic modules, inverters, and mounting structures. This data will effectively support product selection, technological iterations, and investment decisions, shifting the photovoltaic industry from an expansion in quantity to an upgrade in quality.
According to Zhang Junbao, the General Manager of Datang Hainan Energy Development Co., Ltd., the photovoltaic industry is a crucial force in achieving the “dual carbon” goals. Photovoltaic verification serves as a vital bridge connecting laboratory theories to the actual value in power stations. The company aims to leverage its advantages in clean energy deployment in Hainan to enhance the synergy between the verification base and demonstration projects, promoting the safe and reliable application of the 2000-volt system in high-temperature, high-humidity, and high-salt mist environments.
