Weekly Industry Update | Over 30 New Energy Storage Products Launched; More than 20 Publicly Listed Energy Storage Companies Respond to US Tariff War

From April 7 to April 13, 2025, the energy storage industry showed increased activity. In terms of orders and performance, Corin Electric secured a contract for a 38MWh energy storage project in the Maldives; Tesla reported an additional 10.4GWh of energy storage installations in Q1; Haier New Energy signed a procurement agreement worth 500 million for energy storage; Yiwei Lithium Energy finalized an 11GWh cooperation order; Guoxuan High-Tech signed multiple energy storage projects totaling 444MWh; and Yuneng Mofang landed a major order for over 2GWh in Japan.

In financing, Mianshan Environmental Energy is aiming for an IPO on the Beijing Stock Exchange, seeking to raise about 295 million yuan to bolster energy storage and recycling projects. Recently, over 30 leading energy storage companies, including Nanfu Power Supply, Haichen Energy Storage, Zhi Guang Energy Storage, and Yuanjing Power, launched new products featuring significant innovations. Notable releases included 783Ah solid-state batteries and large-capacity energy storage systems of 6.25MWh and 8MWh, setting new industry benchmarks.

Project updates include the signing of a 200MW/400MWh energy storage station project in Shucheng, Anhui; a 200MW/800MWh project agreement with China Electric Power Construction; the commissioning of Tibet’s largest solar-storage power generation project; and a collaborative effort between Trina Solar and the Qinghai Province to co-develop a 200MW/800MWh grid-side energy storage station. Additionally, the Huaneng Huashan Shared Energy Storage Project has begun construction, with a capacity of 200MW/400MWh.

In terms of partnerships, Pi Energy Technology signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Suzhou Shengli New Energy to enhance commercial energy storage asset operations; Cai Ri Energy and Mai Mi Electric established a strategic partnership; and Rongjie Energy partnered with Lin Yang Energy Storage for various collaborative projects.

Internationally, over 20 publicly listed energy storage companies in China, including Sunshine Power, Yiwei Lithium Energy, XINWANDA, Huabao New Energy, and Shouhang New Energy, responded to the impact of the US “reciprocal tariff” policy, with most companies noting limited effects due to the low proportion of their business tied to the US. Meanwhile, Swiss gravity energy storage firm Energy Vault signed a contract for over 30GWh of energy storage in India, and Germany’s home solar storage systems have reached 15GWh of cumulative installed capacity, with one-third installed last year. The Australian Labor Party has pledged to introduce a 23 billion AUD home battery subsidy if re-elected.
