Weekly Industry Update: Over 30 New Energy Storage Products Launched and 20 Companies Respond to US Tariff Battle

In the past week (April 7 – April 13), the activity level within the energy storage industry has continued to rise significantly.

Orders and Achievements: Colin Electric secured a contract for a 38MWh energy storage project in the Maldives. Tesla reported a new installation of 10.4GWh of energy storage in Q1. Haier New Energy signed a procurement agreement worth 500 million for energy storage. EVE Energy has signed an 11GWh cooperation order, while Guoxuan High-Tech has also signed several energy storage projects totaling 444MWh. Yunnan Energy Cube secured a major order exceeding 2GWh in Japan.

Investment and Financing: Minshan Environmental Energy is aiming for the Beijing Stock Exchange, planning to raise approximately 295 million yuan to enhance its energy storage and recycling projects.

New Products: Recently, over 30 leading energy storage companies, including Nandu Power, Haicheng Energy Storage, and Envision Power, launched new products. This includes a 783Ah solid-state battery and large-capacity energy storage systems of 6.25MWh and 8MWh+. The PCS (Power Conversion System) products have been updated to accommodate these large-capacity cells, achieving higher power outputs to match cells of 500Ah+, 600Ah+, and even 700Ah+.

Projects: A 200MW/400MWh energy storage station project was signed in Shucheng, Anhui. China Electric Power Construction signed a contract for a 200MW/800MWh energy storage project. The largest solar-storage power generation project in Tibet has been connected to the grid. Trina Solar has partnered with Datong County in Qinghai Province to co-build a 200MW/800MWh grid-connected energy storage station. The Huaneng Huashan shared energy storage project has also commenced, with a scale of 200MW/400MWh.

Cooperation: Pylon Technologies signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Suzhou Shengli New Energy to enhance commercial energy storage asset operations. Cairi Energy and Maimi Electric have also established a strategic partnership, while Rongjie Energy and Linyang Storage have signed a strategic cooperation agreement.

International Updates: Recently, over 20 A-share listed energy storage companies, including Sungrow Power, EVE Energy, and Xinwanda, responded to the impact of the US “reciprocal tariff” policy, with most stating that the impact is limited due to their low business volume in the US market. Swiss gravity energy storage company Energy Vault signed a contract for over 30GWh of energy storage in India. In Germany, domestic solar storage systems have reached a total installation of 15GWh, with one-third installed last year. The Australian Labor Party has pledged to introduce a 2.3 billion AUD home battery subsidy if re-elected. Copia Power’s large-scale solar-storage project has received 1.71 billion USD in financing.

New Products Launch: Nandu Power recently released several new energy storage products, including the CENTERL ULTRA 6.25MWh liquid-cooled energy storage system, featuring dual-form factor cells (587Ah/783Ah) with independent temperature control. The system allows for factory pre-assembly, reducing installation time by 50%. The CENTERLMAX 8.338MWh liquid-cooled energy storage system boasts a modular design that enhances energy density by 167% compared to the mainstream 5MWh systems.

Haicheng Energy Storage introduced its ∞Cell 587Ah battery, set to begin global sampling in April 2025, with production expected in the second half of 2025. The battery achieves 94.5% efficiency and has a cycle life exceeding 10,000 cycles. Envision Power showcased its 530Ah energy cell, achieving over 1.6kWh per cell and a cycle life of 12,000 times. The company plans to commence mass production in 2025.

Zhiguang Storage presented its latest intelligent energy storage system in Beijing, which dynamically adjusts voltage and frequency to provide quick power support during grid disturbances, greatly enhancing grid resilience.

Orders and Achievements: Colin Electric finalized a contract for a 38MWh energy storage system in the Maldives, valued at approximately 130 million yuan. Tesla’s Q1 saw an additional installation of 10.4GWh, representing a year-over-year increase of 156.6%. EVE Energy has signed a total of 61GWh in cooperation orders for 2025.

Haier New Energy established a partnership with China Construction Investment Leasing, focusing on integrated energy storage solutions across various scenarios. Guoxuan High-Tech is developing several storage projects with a total capacity of 444MWh.

Yunnan Energy Cube signed a strategic procurement agreement with Japan’s Noah, involving a total procurement of 2GWh of grid frequency regulation energy storage systems.

Copia Power has secured 1.71 billion USD in financing for its solar-storage project in Arizona, expected to become operational in 2026-2027.
