Official Announcement! Two listed companies are set to build lithium battery factories in the United States.
On April 14, 2025, Zhongbi New Energy announced a strategic partnership with Kandi Technologies Group to plan the phased construction of two lithium battery manufacturing facilities in the United States. The two parties are currently evaluating potential locations, with the initial phase prioritizing the establishment of a battery pack assembly plant. Subsequent phases will depend on market conditions to advance cell manufacturing projects. The two projects will establish joint ventures with differentiated equity structures.
This collaboration marks a new phase in Zhongbi New Energy's global strategy. To accelerate overseas capacity development, the company plans to initiate small-scale cell trial production in Southeast Asian countries while incorporating the U.S. cell manufacturing project into its medium- to long-term plans.
According to the cooperation agreement, Zhongbi New Energy and Kandi Technologies will leverage their respective technological and resource advantages to develop high-energy density battery systems tailored to the specific performance requirements of off-road and performance vehicles. By establishing integrated local production capabilities from cells to battery packs, they aim to meet the growing demand in North America for off-road and specialty vehicles. This strategy not only enhances supply chain resilience but also aligns with the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act's clean energy incentives, helping companies seize localization opportunities for sustainable development.
To ensure the smooth production of Kandi's battery pack plant, Zhongbi New Energy plans to initially supply cells from its overseas facilities in the first phase, gradually shifting to supply from the proposed U.S. factory, thereby creating a complete supply chain from cells to systems.
