On April 25, under the guidance of the Shandong Provincial Market Supervision Administration, TÜV Rheinland Greater China, an international independent third-party testing, inspection, and certification organization, collaborated with the Shandong Energy Storage Association and the Shandong Provincial Product Quality Inspection Research Institute to hold the “2025 North China New Energy Industry Advanced Technology Seminar” in Qingdao. The seminar, themed “Exploring Green Sustainability to Create a New Future for Energy,” brought together experts, scholars, and industry elites to focus on photovoltaic (PV), energy storage, charging and swapping technology, and hydrogen energy, discussing the development prospects and technological innovations in the new energy industry.

Keynote speeches were delivered by Meng Zhaohong, a secondary inspector at the Shandong Provincial Market Supervision Administration; Zhou Hongqing, a secondary researcher from the Shandong Provincial Energy Bureau; and Yao Qingguo, former president of Shandong University of Science and Technology and chairman of the Shandong Energy Storage Association. In his opening remarks, Xia Bo, President of TÜV Rheinland Greater China, stated, “Currently, the global energy transition is accelerating, presenting unprecedented development opportunities for the new energy industry, while also posing challenges in technology bottlenecks, standards, and market applications. Through this seminar, we hope to build a collaborative platform for the industry, gathering insights to explore key technical challenges, share the latest research findings and practical experiences, and promote technological innovations and industrial upgrades.”

The seminar focused on critical topics for industry development and promoted technological innovation. Jiang Hua, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, reviewed and projected the development of the photovoltaic industry. Shen Wenzhong, Director of the Solar Energy Research Institute at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Honorary Director of the Shanghai Solar Energy Society, shared new trends in solar PV technology development. The hydrogen energy sector is entering a rapid development phase, and TÜV Rheinland, leveraging its years of expertise in hydrogen energy, launched the “White Paper on the Hydrogen Energy and Fuel Cell Industry Chain.” Liweichun, Vice President of Global Power Electronics Product Services and Vice President of Solar and Commercial Product Services at TÜV Rheinland Greater China, provided a detailed interpretation of this white paper, guiding the large-scale commercialization of green hydrogen and the entry of hydrogen enterprises into the global market.

With the continuous rise in voltage of energy storage systems, 2000V power electronics technology is becoming a focal point in the market. Dong Bin, General Manager of Power Electronics Products at TÜV Rheinland Greater China, shared solutions for 2000V power electronics technology. During the roundtable forum, guests focused on how new energy companies can break through in a volatile global market, discussing topics such as industry collaboration, technological frontiers, and cooperation models, sharing their insights.

During the seminar, TÜV Rheinland also awarded product certification certificates to several companies. The 5MWh container energy storage system from Shandong Electric Power Times Energy Technology Co., Ltd. received certification based on IEC 62619, IEC 63056, and EN 62477-1 standards; LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. received multiple reliability series certification for its HI-MO9 double glass modules based on IEC TS 63209-1, IEC TS 63126, IEC 62892, and IEC 62938 standards, and an A-level certification for shadowing resistance for its HI-MO10 single glass modules. Additionally, the HI-MO10 double glass dust-resistant modules received certification based on IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 standards; Yingli Energy Development Co., Ltd. received the IEC TS 63126 high-temperature reliability certification for its N-type double glass TOPCon modules; and the Xining Solar Power Branch of Qinghai Yellow River Upper Reaches Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. received certification for its double glass BC modules based on IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 standards.

Moreover, TÜV Rheinland awarded the “Outstanding Quality Person in the Photovoltaic Industry” award to Yu Bo, Vice President of Yingli Energy Development Co., Ltd., and Tian Jiehua, head of product development management at Anhui Huasheng New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., in recognition of their contributions to promoting high-quality development in the photovoltaic sector. The seminar also featured two sub-forums: the “Advanced Technology Seminar on Light Storage Charging” and the “Advanced Technology Seminar on Photovoltaics,” focusing on different topics for technical sharing and discussions.

As a global leader in technology services, TÜV Rheinland possesses profound technical strength and extensive global influence in the new energy field, covering the entire industry chain from upstream to downstream, including solar photovoltaic, energy storage systems, lithium-ion batteries, hydrogen energy and fuel cells, new energy vehicles, as well as charging equipment and facilities. The organization is dedicated to providing one-stop services for new energy enterprises, from R&D testing and production process monitoring to product certification, helping them successfully enter international markets and enhance brand visibility and competitiveness. In the future, TÜV Rheinland will continue to collaborate with industry partners to promote high-quality development in the new energy sector, contributing to the achievement of carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals.
