TrinaTracker Establishes 3 GW Factory in Saudi Arabia
TrinaTracker, a provider of smart solar tracking solutions and a division of Trina Solar, has announced the establishment of a 3 GW manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia. This factory is set to begin operations in the first quarter of this year and will focus on producing TrinaTracker’s Vanguard series of solar trackers and smart control systems.
According to the company, the new facility will operate with zero pollutant emissions during the production process. TrinaTracker’s innovative solar tracking solutions are designed to enhance energy generation in the challenging weather conditions typical of Saudi Arabia and the surrounding region, which often include sand, strong winds, and high temperatures.
Located in the 3rd Industrial City in Jeddah, the factory is part of a land-lease agreement with the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON). This new facility marks TrinaTracker’s fourth manufacturing plant globally, joining its existing operations in China, Spain, and Brazil.
Vincent Wu, Global Sales Vice President and MEA MU Head at Trina Solar, emphasized that this factory represents a strategic move to enhance the company’s localization efforts. He stated, “By enhancing our local presence, we are improving service capabilities, increasing delivery efficiency, and ensuring that customers in the region have access to innovative, high-quality solar tracking solutions.” Wu also noted that this initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 by contributing to the diversification of the nation’s energy mix, creating local jobs, and fostering growth in the renewable energy sector.
Earlier this week, TrinaTracker published results from independent field tests conducted at a mountainous solar plant in China, demonstrating that its smart control system can deliver significant power generation gains at ground-mounted solar plants.
