What do you see as the primary challenge in accelerating energy storage adoption in Chile, and how is ATESS addressing it?
One significant challenge is the lack of experienced technical personnel in the energy storage sector. ATESS is tackling this issue by not only providing reliable products but also offering technical training and robust local support to build long-term capacity and ensure successful project deployment.
ATESS has established a strong presence in the Chilean market in recent years. What key insights and opportunities have you identified through your work in the country and interactions with local energy stakeholders?
In Chile, we’ve discovered that adapting to varied environmental conditions and forging strong local partnerships are crucial. There’s a clear opportunity to enhance grid stability and reduce solar curtailment, particularly in the northern regions. Additionally, we are witnessing increasing potential for both commercial and industrial (C&I) as well as utility-scale storage as the energy transition progresses.
As Chile emerges as a regional leader in renewable energy, what role do you envision energy storage playing in ensuring the stability of this evolving energy framework?
At ATESS, we regard energy storage as essential for stabilizing Chile’s renewable energy grid. Our objective is to provide reliable and scalable storage solutions that minimize curtailment, enhance flexibility, and support the country’s transition to clean energy.
Beyond storage, ATESS has also been advancing electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. How do you foresee the development of e-mobility in Chile over the next five years?
We are very optimistic about the future of e-mobility in Chile. The market has experienced remarkable growth in recent years. At ATESS, we closely monitor these developments and are designing EV chargers tailored to local needs—reliable, intelligent, and scalable. We view Chile as a crucial market and are dedicated to facilitating its transition to clean transportation.
Drawing from your global experience, what international best practices in storage or e-mobility could be effectively applied in the Chilean context?
From our global perspective, two best practices are particularly relevant for the Chilean market:
1. **Customized Solutions for Local Needs**
Chile’s diverse geography and energy challenges necessitate flexible, tailored systems—especially for remote areas and industrial users. Customization ensures greater efficiency and better alignment with local conditions.
2. **Strong Local Partner and Service Network**
Success hinges on having trusted local distributors and dependable after-sales service. Investing in training, support, and local maintenance teams fosters long-term trust and guarantees smooth operation.
Finally, what message would you like to convey to investors, decision-makers, and companies attending the Chile Energy Transition Summit 2025 regarding the value ATESS brings to Chile’s energy ecosystem?
At ATESS, we offer advanced, reliable, and scalable energy storage and EV charging solutions specifically designed for Chile’s unique energy landscape. Our technology contributes to grid stability, maximizes renewable energy utilization, and accelerates the transition to clean mobility. We are committed to collaborating with local stakeholders to propel Chile’s sustainable energy future and deliver long-term value for investors and the community.
