Tim Cook Excited to Witness Next Developments in China’s AI Industry at High-Level Forum

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, expressed his eagerness to witness the next advancements in AI in China during a recent media interview. He remarked on the impressive development of the robotics industry in the country and shared his enthusiasm for the opportunities presented during China’s 14th Five-Year Plan, particularly in the field of AI.

According to reports, the China Development Forum 2026 commenced today in Beijing. In his opening remarks, Cook highlighted the remarkable talent of Chinese developers who are continually pushing the boundaries of innovation. They are utilizing technology to create tools that assist people in acquiring skills, managing health, and sparking new ideas. This innovation has become a powerful engine for growth, exemplifying new productivity and bringing prosperity and opportunities to the nation.

Cook noted that the spirit of innovation is profoundly transforming China’s manufacturing sector. Companies that once relied heavily on manual labor have now emerged as some of the most advanced manufacturers globally, achieving unprecedented levels of efficiency and quality. He also commended Chinese suppliers and partners for their extraordinary innovative capabilities in reducing environmental carbon footprints. Currently, over 90% of Apple’s products in China are powered by clean energy, and more than 90 suppliers and partners have committed to using 100% renewable energy for Apple product manufacturing by 2030.

As previously reported, Cook recently began a new visit to China. On March 18, he participated in the global celebration of Apple’s 50th anniversary in Chengdu, where he interacted warmly with attendees. The following day, he was in Beijing, sharing insights with developers of games such as Arknights: Endfield, Zero Zone, and Escape from Duck Cove.

On March 20, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao met with Tim Cook to discuss topics related to Sino-U.S. trade relations and Apple’s business development in China. Cook emphasized that China is Apple’s most significant production base and main source of supply chain. He reiterated Apple’s commitment to deepening innovation cooperation, green development, and collaboration within the supply chain in alignment with the goals of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan. Apple hopes for a stable development of Sino-U.S. trade relations.
