On April 18, Huang Haiyan, Executive Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer of Zhejiang Chint New Energy, attended the third Zhejiang Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Industry Conference and shared experiences on going global. During a high-level dialogue, Huang emphasized that the photovoltaic industry is transitioning from a phase of “photovoltaic solo advancement” to an era of “photovoltaic and energy storage symbiosis.” The integration of photovoltaic and energy storage is becoming a crucial force in reconstructing the new energy ecosystem, fostering a mutually beneficial industrial ecology.

With the continuous improvement of energy management technologies, the synergy and efficiency of photovoltaic and energy storage systems have enhanced, driving developments in various scenarios such as photovoltaic-thermal integration, microgrids connected to energy sources, networks, loads, and storage, as well as household energy storage systems. This collaborative framework effectively addresses the challenges of absorbing photovoltaic electricity, smooths out the intermittent fluctuations of solar power generation, and increases the utilization rate of clean energy. In the context of power market reforms, this synergy can help to flatten peak and valley loads, mitigating electricity price volatility risks.

In light of changing international competition dynamics, tariffs have emerged as a hot topic in the industry. Huang believes that tariffs act as both barriers and catalysts, pushing industries to expand globally. Chinese new energy companies must adopt a more open approach to integrate into the global value chain, transitioning from “product exports” to “industrial exports.” By diversifying their presence, they can empower local supply chains with technology and build localized service capabilities to achieve sustainable development amid a complex international trade environment.

The global photovoltaic market is currently experiencing a trend of “dual concentration and dual differentiation,” where demand is shifting towards companies with technological leadership and excellent cost control. Companies must focus on scenario-based customization to develop differentiated strategies for different regional markets. For instance, in Europe, they should build green brands and focus on residential applications; in the domestic market, they should highlight innovative application scenarios and emphasize ecological empowerment; and in Middle Eastern and African markets, they should prioritize cost-performance ratios to adapt to desert environments. By tailoring their brand characteristics and innovating application scenarios, companies can showcase product performance advantages and meet the diverse needs of customers across regions.

During the conference, Yang Tianfeng, Senior Product Manager at Chint New Energy, delivered a speech titled “Technological Trends of N-type High-Efficiency Modules and Prospects for All-Scenario Applications.” As the photovoltaic industry advances and battery technologies evolve, Chint’s ASTRO N modules can cater to eight different niche scenarios beyond ground-based stations, commercial distributed stations, and residential installations. The modules effectively tackle challenges posed by various environments, including marine, desert, agricultural, BIPV (Building-Integrated Photovoltaics), and hail.

Under the guidance of the “Dual Carbon” strategic goal, Chint New Energy is continuously evolving towards a future driven by technology and ecological reconstruction of value, consistently releasing synergistic effects of photovoltaic and energy storage integration, thus injecting new energy into global energy transformation.
