Tesla to Build First Grid-Scale Power Plant in China

New York, June 20, 2025 (AFP) – Tesla announced on Friday that it has signed an agreement to construct its first grid-scale energy storage power station in mainland China. This project aims to facilitate the flexible management of grid resources and effectively address the challenges associated with urban power supply, as stated by Tesla in a post on the Chinese social media platform Weibo.
Upon completion, Tesla expects this project to become the largest grid-side energy storage initiative in China.
