Termination of Five Distributed Photovoltaic Projects!
Date: 2025-05-13
As the excitement surrounding the “430” installation rush begins to fade, the distributed photovoltaic market is becoming increasingly chilly. On May 9, the EPC contract for a 44.67MWp rooftop distributed photovoltaic project in Ying County, Shanxi was terminated due to significant project changes that led to the cancellation of the tender. This project, initiated by Changsha Chinen New Energy Development Co., Ltd., included five commercial power station projects with a cumulative capacity of 44.67MW.
Notably, the bidding results were announced in early March, with the Shandong Provincial Industrial Equipment Installation Group Co., Ltd. and Shandong Zhongtian Energy Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd. consortium, as well as the BOE Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and China Intelligence Investment Engineering Management Co., Ltd. consortium shortlisted as candidates. Furthermore, several other distributed photovoltaic projects have also been forced to halt due to various policy-related reasons. The affected owners include Zhongge New Energy, China Energy Group, Southern Power Grid, Gangneng, and Guangzhou Development. Here are the details:
- Three Distributed Photovoltaic Projects in Xi’an Terminated – A total capacity of 60MW. Recently, three distributed photovoltaic projects in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, with a total capacity of 60MW, were terminated due to policy reasons. These projects were invested by Shanxi Dongxie Leike Innovative Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Yantai Zhongge New Energy Co., Ltd., and Baishui Ruifeng Qicheng New Energy Power Generation Co., Ltd..
- Termination of a 12.7MW Project by China Energy Group – The 12.68795MW photovoltaic project was halted due to the impact of the latest grid and electricity pricing policies.
- Guangzhou Development’s 5.98MW Distributed Project Terminated – This project was terminated due to its inability to connect to the grid by May 1.
- Termination of a 300MW Distributed Project by Gangneng – On April 17, Gangneng (Zhenxiong) New Energy Co., Ltd. announced the termination of its 2024 distributed photovoltaic power station project due to adjustments in national policies regarding distributed photovoltaic station construction.
- Termination of a 9.2MW Distributed Project by Southern Power Grid – This project was terminated due to significant impacts from policies affecting grid connection models.
