The Taipei International Automotive Parts and Accessories Show (Taipei AMPA) and the Taiwan International E-Mobility Show (E-Mobility Taiwan), organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, launched on April 23 under the new brand “360° MOBILITY Mega Shows.” This event coincides with the Autotronics Taipei and is being held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1.
This year’s exhibitions revolve around the theme “Drive Smart, Drive the Future.” They feature over 1,000 exhibitors from 17 countries, utilizing 2,500 booths to showcase diverse solutions in automotive electronics, power systems, energy applications, advanced manufacturing, and lighting technology, reflecting the trends of smart electrification and low-carbon transformation. Huang Zhifang, Chairman of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, highlighted that more than 1,000 companies from the automotive industry are participating, occupying 1,500 booths, marking a significant scale.
In light of global economic changes, Huang expressed confidence in Taiwan’s automotive parts and electronics sector, which has been a strong export industry. Last year, Taiwan’s automotive parts exports reached NT$228.5 billion. Although tariffs will have a certain impact, he noted that companies have been diversifying their markets over the past few years, and the relevant industries will fully adapt.
International media are also concerned about whether Taiwan will reduce its R&D and marketing efforts in response to tariff challenges. Huang countered that the opposite is true; Taiwan’s companies are resilient. Over the past 50 years, they have navigated many challenges, showcasing their ability to compete. He acknowledged that tariffs would create challenges, but since the 25% tariff applies broadly, not only to Taiwan but also to competitors, this exhibition serves as an opportunity to consolidate Taiwan’s industrial strength and pursue the best international connections and business prospects.
This year, the council has mobilized various foreign offices to invite 3,500 overseas buyers and has arranged multiple business forums. In response to tariff policies, a special forum titled “Moving Forward to the U.S.” has been scheduled, which will include market and investment presentations and industry connections. This forum will feature local representatives from the U.S. who will provide insights into the development of the mobility industry across different states and the latest investment policies in response to tariffs. Additionally, the President of the Mexican Automotive Industry Association will share insights on local industry conditions and supply chain recommendations to assist Taiwanese businesses in seizing opportunities in emerging manufacturing bases.
Huang emphasized that the automotive parts, smart mobility, and automotive electronics exhibitions have commenced, reaffirming the resilience of Taiwanese enterprises.
