The Smart Energy Week and Net Zero Sustainability Exhibition will take place from October 29 to 31 at the Nangang Exhibition Center, focusing on highlights in green energy and energy storage. This event is jointly organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Green Energy and Sustainable Development Alliance (GESA).

TAITRA announced that this year’s exhibition will emphasize topics such as energy transition, diverse green energy, and technological energy storage, in line with global trends in AI technology and sustainable green energy development. Approximately 28,000 professionals from both domestic and international backgrounds are expected to attend.

GESA is an industry alliance under the SEMI International Semiconductor Industry Association. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), the report titled Energy and Artificial Intelligence indicates that the electricity demand of global data centers is projected to double by 2030. It is estimated that by 2035, half of the new electricity consumption will be powered by green energy. As global electricity demand rapidly increases, the energy sector is undergoing significant transformation, with renewable energy and grid storage becoming the dual engines driving this transition.

The Taiwan International Smart Energy Week will align with global energy market trends through four main exhibition areas: the Solar Energy Exhibition, Wind Energy Exhibition, Smart Energy Storage Application Exhibition, and Diverse Energy Innovation Exhibition. These areas will connect the upstream and downstream supply chains of the green energy sector, showcasing the latest technologies and application solutions.

As the world moves towards the 2050 Net Zero targets, action is now being taken beyond mere commitments. Companies are focusing not just on carbon reduction but also on enhancing energy efficiency and building a green supply chain. TAITRA notes that Taiwan commenced its National Carbon Reduction Action Plan at the beginning of this year, promoting cross-ministerial collaboration and technological innovation to advance industrial net zero processes.

This year’s Taiwan International Net Zero Sustainability Exhibition will once again gather domestic industries, with participation from companies such as Formosa Plastics, Uni-President Enterprises, Shilin Electric, and Hongde Energy.

TAITRA emphasizes that this year’s exhibition will focus on areas such as deep energy savings, energy integration services, circular economy, green power trading, and carbon reduction and negative carbon technologies. Additionally, there will be an expanded call for participants from cross-disciplinary sectors, including building energy efficiency, natural carbon sinks, carbon footprint auditing, and climate risk management, to showcase diverse solutions for achieving net zero and to create an important platform for accelerating the development of net zero technologies.
