
Sungrow Unveils PowerTitan 3.0 to Transform Large-Scale Energy Storage Worldwide

Sungrow, a global leader in inverter and energy storage technology, has launched its new PowerTitan 3.0 platform, designed to meet the demands of the rapidly evolving clean energy landscape. This innovative system offers advanced flexibility, power density, and intelligence for large-scale energy storage applications and is now commercially available worldwide.
The PowerTitan 3.0 moves beyond traditional fixed setups, featuring a modular design that allows all key functions to be deployed based on specific project requirements—eliminating the need for redesigns. This adaptability makes it suitable for a wide range of utility-scale applications across the globe.
At the core of the PowerTitan 3.0 is the industry’s first large-scale implementation of a fully liquid-cooled Silicon Carbide Power Conversion System. Each unit can deliver 450 kilowatts of power with an impressive maximum efficiency of 99.3% and a round-trip efficiency of 93.5%. Notably, the system retains full-power operation even in extreme temperatures up to 55 degrees Celsius, making it particularly suitable for hot climates.
To facilitate deployment, the PowerTitan 3.0 comes pre-installed, pre-tested, and factory-integrated using a block-level design. Intelligent configuration tools can reduce setup time by 17 days for a 1 gigawatt-hour project, allowing for rapid scaling.
The system is equipped with several intelligent tools, including PowerBidder, Sungrow’s electricity market trading system, which helps operators minimize financial risks and enhance trading performance. Additionally, PowerDoctor—an integrated maintenance assistant—can identify over 30 types of faults with more than 99% diagnostic accuracy and guides technicians through repairs, thereby improving both uptime and response time.
PowerTitan 3.0 also incorporates Sungrow’s next-generation Stem-Cell Grid-Forming Technology. This feature enables the system to anticipate and react to grid disturbances, seamlessly switch between grid-following and grid-forming modes without interruption, and support grid black-starts at the gigawatt level. It is capable of managing significant variations in grid strength and can respond to sudden changes in grid conditions in just 20 milliseconds.
To accommodate diverse project needs, the platform is available in three versions: a 10-foot Flex unit with a capacity of 3.45 megawatt-hours, a 20-foot Class version with 6.9 megawatt-hours, and a 30-foot Plus version with 12.5 megawatt-hours. All models support storage durations ranging from two to twelve hours and are engineered for stable performance in temperatures from -40 to +55 degrees Celsius and at altitudes up to 5,000 meters.
With the introduction of PowerTitan 3.0, Sungrow is redefining the deployment and management of large-scale energy storage, making installations faster, operations more intelligent, and systems more resilient to real-world challenges.
