### Key Innovations of PowerTitan 3.0
The PowerTitan 3.0 ESS Platform is equipped with an integrated modular library of scenario-based functions. All functional modules are standardized, allowing for free deployment based on specific scenario requirements without the need for redesign. This single platform supports multiple combinations, making it suitable for various global applications.
The platform breaks free from the limitations of fixed container sizes, launching initially in several configurations: the 10ft Flex version with a capacity of 3.45 MWh, the 20ft Class version with a capacity of 6.9 MWh, and the 30ft Plus version with a capacity of 12.5 MWh. It supports durations ranging from 2 to 12 hours and operates reliably in extreme environmental conditions, with temperature ranges from -40°C to +55°C (-40°F to +131°F) and altitudes up to 5,000 meters (16,404 feet) without performance degradation.
### Advanced Battery Cell Technology
For projects requiring high capacity and cost-effectiveness, the PowerTitan 3.0 Plus version features a groundbreaking 684Ah stacking large battery cell. This powerful cell can deliver up to 12.5 MW/50 MWh per AC block, making it the world’s highest power density battery energy storage system (BESS), with over 500 kWh per square meter. The design allows for back-to-back installations with only 20 mm of spacing, resulting in a more compact layout. A 1 GWh-scale project can achieve a 45% reduction in land footprint and a 10% decrease in cabling, significantly lowering capital expenditures (CAPEX).
This innovative 684Ah stacking battery cell is the first in the industry to enter mass production. It boasts a higher energy density of 448 Wh per liter and an impressive cycle life of over 15,000 cycles. To ensure safety, the battery incorporates pioneering Thermo-Electric Separation technology, which resets cell vents and internal pack exhaust channels, preventing high-temperature gases from damaging battery components and mitigating the risk of thermal runaway.
### Industry-Leading Power Conversion System
Featuring the first large-scale application of a fully liquid-cooled Silicon Carbide Power Conversion System (SiC PCS), the PowerTitan 3.0 system provides a power capacity of 450 kW per unit, achieving a maximum efficiency of 99.3% and a system round-trip efficiency (RTE) of 93.5%. This design allows for full-power operation even in extreme heat conditions, such as those found in the Middle East.
### Rapid Deployment and Intelligent Operations
The PowerTitan 3.0 is designed for quick deployment. It comes pre-installed, pre-debugged, and block-level pre-integrated, enabling automated configuration and inspection at the site, which can reduce the deployment time by 17 days for a 1 GWh project.
Moreover, the product integrates intelligent functionalities, including Sungrow’s PowerBidder—an Electricity Market Trading System aimed at minimizing risks and maximizing profits from electricity trading operations. Additionally, the PowerDoctor Operation & Maintenance (O&M) tool can predict over 30 types of faults with over 99% diagnostic accuracy, facilitating proactive maintenance.
### Built-in Grid-Forming Capabilities
Sungrow’s PowerTitan 3.0 incorporates the company’s Stem-Cell Grid-Forming Tech 2.0, which anticipates grid disturbances before they escalate, ensuring that energy storage systems respond proactively. It synchronously delivers renewable energy and energy storage, enabling GW-scale black start capabilities, seamless mode switching between grid-following and grid-forming, and rapid response times of 20 milliseconds with the ability to handle both symmetrical and asymmetrical phase angle jumps.
These advanced features support rapid grid recovery, maximize ancillary service revenue, and ensure reliability across all grid scenarios, including generation, transmission, microgrids, and consumption endpoints.
