The Ningxia New Energy Industry Chain Collaborative Development and New Technology Application Exchange Conference was successfully held in Yinchuan on April 18, 2025. This event was guided by the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region’s Department of Industry and Information Technology, organized by the Ningxia Clean Energy Industry Promotion Association, and co-hosted by LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “LONGi Green Energy”).
With a photovoltaic installation target exceeding 32.5 million kilowatts by 2025, Ningxia is experiencing rapid growth driven by favorable policies, resource advantages, and industry expansion. Leaders from the regional government, representatives from upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry chain, and experts gathered to delve into discussions on photovoltaic technology innovation, industry chain collaboration, and green, high-quality development, collectively outlining a blueprint for the new energy industry in Ningxia.
Leading the Industry Towards High-Quality Development
Lu Jizhi, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region’s Department of Industry and Information Technology, stated in his address that Ningxia, as a significant national new energy base, has established a comprehensive industry chain covering silicon materials, wafers, cells, modules, brackets, and end applications. This region has developed several industrial clusters worth over 100 billion yuan. He emphasized that the current photovoltaic industry must break through barriers through three main pathways: “dual-directional industry chain collaboration, stable and secure supply chains, and the release of innovation chain vitality.” He called for enterprises to strengthen collaboration and build a robust industry ecosystem.
Jiang Zhenhan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Yinchuan Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor, highlighted that Yinchuan is focused on achieving the “dual carbon” goals and has cultivated three major industrial clusters: photovoltaic materials, hydrogen energy equipment, and energy storage integration. He mentioned that by 2024, the output value of the clean energy industry is expected to reach 23.736 billion yuan, with monocrystalline silicon rod production capacity accounting for one-fifth of global output. In the future, Yinchuan aims to leverage “leading enterprises” to promote the upgrade of the industry chain from “point breakthroughs” to “cluster operations,” with plans to establish the northwest’s first zero-carbon logistics park within the year, injecting green momentum into the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin.
As a representative of the leading enterprises, Yu Haifeng, Vice President of LONGi Green Energy, reflected on the company’s 18-year journey in Ningxia, during which it has invested nearly 30 billion yuan to establish a comprehensive industry chain encompassing silicon rods, wafers, cells, and modules. He introduced LONGi Green Energy’s latest high-efficiency product, the Hi-MO 9 module, which boasts a conversion efficiency of 24.8% and a power output of 670W. Furthermore, various technological upgrades are actively being pursued in Ningxia, including advancements in the globally leading HPBC 2.0 high-efficiency battery technology, intelligent transformation of wafer production capacity, and the establishment of BC component production.
Technological Innovation and Achievements Showcase
During the technical sharing session, representatives from LONGi Green Energy, Jinjing Technology, and Northwest Bearing presented several cutting-edge technologies and products. LONGi Green Energy showcased its “Shago Desert” customized solution, which enhances power generation by 8.8% and increases annual revenue by over 56 million yuan through the use of high-efficiency modules and intelligent operation and maintenance technologies. Additionally, the company’s self-developed “Sinan Operation and Maintenance System” can accurately diagnose reasons for power station losses, improving operational efficiency by over 30%.
Jinjing Technology focused on photovoltaic glass and TCO coating technologies. Its FTO glass, recognized as a core material for perovskite batteries, has been acknowledged by over 30 thin-film battery companies. The company is exploring a new collaborative model integrating “photovoltaics + glass” with LONGi Green Energy, aiming to reduce energy consumption per watt of photovoltaic glass by 15% and propel Ningxia to become a supply hub for photovoltaic glass in the northwest region. Northwestern Bearing analyzed the economic differences between tracking brackets and fixed brackets, revealing that under a market-oriented electricity trading environment, tracking brackets can enhance annual power generation revenue by 23.8%, offering new ideas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements in large-scale photovoltaic projects in Ningxia.
During the event, LONGi Green Energy and Jinjing Technology signed a strategic cooperation agreement, committing to deepen collaboration in areas such as production capacity alignment, research and technology, and talent development in the modules and glass sectors, thereby setting a benchmark for industry chain collaborative development.
Strategic Signing Roundtable Forum
Looking ahead, Hai Tao, Deputy General Manager of the Ningxia State-owned Capital Operation Group (hereinafter referred to as “Ningguoyun”), stated that Ningguoyun has already led the development of 7 million kilowatts of green electricity projects, increasing the local procurement rate to 60% and collaborating with universities on advanced research technologies. With the large-scale application of technologies like LONGi Green Energy’s HPBC 2.0 and Jinjing’s TCO glass, alongside the prevalence of tracking brackets and intelligent operation and maintenance, Ningxia is poised to construct a “technologically advanced, fully collaborative, low-carbon, and efficient” new energy industry system, contributing significantly to the national “dual carbon” goals. In the future, Ningxia will lead with its major enterprises, accelerating technology sharing and ecological co-construction, thus writing a new chapter in the high-quality development of new energy.
