This year’s expo, held from May 17 to May 20, 2025, at the Chengdu Century City New International Conference and Exhibition Center, marked the conclusion of the Third China International Energy Storage Industry Expo (referred to as the Sichuan International Energy Storage Expo). Guided by the China Electricity Council and organized by the China International Trade Promotion Committee’s Power Industry Committee, along with special support from the Sichuan Provincial Electric Power Industry Association and organized by Chengdu Zhenwei International Exhibition Co., Ltd., this event gathered over 300 leading enterprises and showcased more than 1,000 new products, equipment, technologies, applications, and solutions in the energy storage and energy sectors.
The expo provided a comprehensive platform for showcasing and exchanging innovations and applications across the energy storage industry chain. The total on-site procurement amounted to 560 million yuan, with intended collaborations reaching 820 million yuan. The total agreements and intended collaboration reached 1.38 billion yuan, attracting over 50,000 professional visitors, purchasing groups, and guests from more than 20 countries and regions, including Kazakhstan, Peru, Yemen, Pakistan, the Philippines, Nepal, Singapore, Venezuela, Germany, Russia, and Myanmar. Over 100 industry associations and organizations from regions such as Fujian, Qinghai, Guangxi, Ningxia, Shandong, Shaanxi, Chongqing, Mianyang, and Jiaxing participated in the event.
The expo facilitated numerous collaborations, including the procurement intentions for turbine purchases between Kazakhstan and the Dongfang Electric Corporation’s turbine division. This event has established itself as a high-standard international expo influencing the high-quality development of China’s energy storage sector.
Key leaders and guests attended the opening ceremony, including Jing Maoming, Deputy Director of the Sichuan Provincial Economic and Information Technology Department; Wang Shuxiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the China Electricity Council; Gao Yufeng, Member of the Party Committee of the China Electricity Council; Lei Xianzhang, Academician of the German National Academy of Engineering and Chief Scientist for Carbon Neutrality at Southwest Petroleum University; and other officials from various nations.
Concurrent with the expo, several thematic conferences were successfully held, including the China Energy Storage Industry Chain Collaborative Innovation Development Conference, the China International New Power System Development and Application Conference, and various forums and exchange meetings aimed at exploring the challenges and opportunities within the energy storage industry.
The exhibition covered an impressive area of 22,000 square meters, featuring over 300 enterprises including prominent companies like Tongwei Group, Dongfang Electric, Guangdong Didu, and many others. The showcased products encompassed energy storage technologies, solar photovoltaic systems, wind energy equipment, hydrogen energy, smart grids, and more.
Special highlights included Tongwei Group’s innovative “fishing-solar integration” model and the methanol-based distributed power station from Kangwo Holdings, which drew significant attention. Additionally, more than 1,000 innovative products showcased advancements in the energy storage industry.
With participation from over 100 domestic and international purchasing groups, the expo demonstrated its effectiveness as a professional platform for collaboration. Buyers from Kazakhstan expressed interest in turbine procurement, while Peru’s buyers sought solar lights and energy storage solutions, engaging in discussions with various exhibitors.
The expo successfully bridged technology and business connections, with many industry associations and organizations participating in procurement activities, fostering innovative collaborations across the energy sector.
The Third China International Energy Storage Industry Expo has opened a new direction for high-quality development and intelligent leadership in the energy storage sector. The opening ceremony was hosted by Gao Yufeng, with key speeches from leading figures in the industry.
