Significant Progress in Renewable Energy: Multiple large-scale energy projects are being accelerated, leading to increased electricity generation.

On May 30, 2025, the National Energy Administration announced that several major renewable energy initiatives have reached a state of stable operation. These projects are part of the country’s efforts to enhance energy efficiency and integrate various energy sources into the national grid.

Among these projects is the Green Energy Base, which is focused on maximizing the use of renewable resources. The base is located in the coastal area, where substantial wind and solar resources are available. Currently, hundreds of renewable energy generation units are undergoing testing to ensure their efficiency and reliability.

The “Green Energy Base” refers to regions where solar and wind energy resources are abundant. The latest verification results indicate that this base is producing significant energy outputs. One of the key achievements has been the construction of a 300 megawatt wind farm that is now operational.

The projects are categorized into different phases of technology verification and regular testing, combining ten major renewable energy support systems with 36 types of equipment. This has led to the establishment of 150 verification schemes aimed at improving the quality of renewable energy generation.

The Shandong Province is home to a massive wind energy project that has a total capacity of 133 megawatts. This facility is designed to utilize advanced wind turbine technology, allowing it to achieve wind speeds of up to 57 meters per second. This represents a 14% improvement in performance compared to standard systems, enabling better adaptation to severe weather conditions.

The Shandong Province wind energy project, managed by Wang Jianwei, is expected to generate approximately 22 billion kilowatt-hours of clean energy annually. This output can power around 70 million households, significantly reducing carbon emissions by an estimated 191,000 tons each year, and contributing to a reduction of 5,600 tons of coal consumption.

In terms of national energy generation, the country plans to implement a dual 350 megawatt thermal power generation unit to ensure stable power supply. This project is expected to maintain a cumulative electricity generation efficiency decrease of only 3%, with an anticipated annual power generation of 12 billion kilowatt-hours.

The aim of these projects is to enhance energy supply through renewable resources while ensuring environmental sustainability. These developments are crucial for the country’s long-term energy strategy and commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.

Editor’s Note: This information reflects the ongoing advancements in renewable energy infrastructure and its critical role in the global energy landscape.
