The Strategic Evolution of GoodWe: Building a New Energy Ecosystem Paradigm of “Source, Network, Load, Storage, and Intelligence”

At the 13th International Energy Storage Summit (ESIE 2025), GoodWe Vice President Wang Yingge systematically explained the company’s strategy, highlighting its role as a pioneer in the green transformation of the new energy sector. As the proportion of renewable energy in the power system continues to rise annually, the accelerated development of a new type of power system, primarily based on new energy, is underway. Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the National Energy Administration (NEA) jointly issued a notice regarding the deepening of market-oriented reforms in the pricing of renewable energy (Document No. 136 [2025]), which encourages renewable energy to participate in market transactions, allowing prices to be determined by market forces. This shift marks a significant step towards the realization of market-oriented trading in the energy sector.

In the wave of energy transformation driven by the “dual carbon” goals, GoodWe, a leading company in the photovoltaic and energy storage sectors, has adopted a “dual circulation” strategy as its engine. Through innovative all-scenario solutions encompassing “source, network, load, storage, and intelligence,” GoodWe is not only leading the domestic market but also accelerating its international development. Established 15 years ago, GoodWe is deeply entrenched in the new energy field, leveraging energy storage technology to unlock trillion-yuan market opportunities.

Dual Circulation Strategy Forging Core Competitiveness

Wang Yingge noted, “In the face of unprecedented global changes, China has proposed the dual circulation strategy, and GoodWe is actively responding. We place great importance on the domestic market and have invested significantly, achieving remarkable results. In the first quarter of 2025, GoodWe ranked first in the domestic household photovoltaic inverter market, with a substantial increase in our market share compared to 2024. Additionally, our domestic optoelectronic building materials business performed exceptionally well in the first quarter, showing substantial year-on-year growth. Our subsidiaries, including Yude, Smart Energy, and GoodWe Thermal, have also achieved impressive results, with all business lines progressing rapidly.”

GoodWe has also excelled in international business. Wang stated, “Our products are sold in over 100 countries and regions, and we have 27 sales service centers globally, along with 11 overseas subsidiaries and nearly 300 employees abroad. With the end of the European inventory cycle, our performance has improved significantly, maintaining a strong position in the Australian market, while also achieving breakthroughs in channel and service capabilities across the Asia, Africa, and Latin America markets.”

Strategic Layout in the Trillion-Yuan Energy Storage Market

GoodWe’s foresight in the energy storage industry is evident. Wang explained, “From the outset, GoodWe recognized that the intermittent and unstable characteristics of photovoltaic energy posed challenges to expanding its application scenarios. Therefore, as early as 2012, we developed our first bi-directional energy storage inverter, entering the storage industry ahead of others and laying the groundwork for future development.” At the 13th International Energy Storage Summit and Exhibition (ESIE 2025), GoodWe showcased three major scenario solutions covering commercial, residential, and ground storage, achieving comprehensive scenario coverage. In the commercial energy storage sector, the ALL IN ONE 125kW/261kWh commercial energy storage cabinet, featuring a fully self-developed 3S (PCS, BMS, EMS) system, supports up to 10 units in parallel, achieving a maximum capacity of 1.25MW/2.61MWh and integrating photovoltaic and storage solutions seamlessly.

For residential energy storage, the ES Uniq inverter is specifically designed for homes in areas without a stable grid, featuring excellent microgrid capabilities that support both grid-connected and off-grid operations, with a rapid 4ms switching capability to ensure the stable operation of critical loads. Regarding ground station storage, the 215kW storage PCS product employs a modular design with outstanding grid-building capabilities, off-grid parallel operation, and black start functions, supporting various battery types for efficient plug-and-play deployment on site.

Building an Energy Value System with “Source, Network, Load, Storage, and Intelligence”

GoodWe Chairman Huang Min was the first in China to propose the concept of “Source, Network, Load, Storage, and Intelligence,” reflecting a profound insight into the future energy system. “We realize that every power station in the future needs to be built and managed from the perspective of ‘source, network, load, storage, and intelligence’,” Wang stated. Based on this concept, GoodWe established the Optoelectronic Building Materials Division, focusing on the research and promotion of BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) products. The company is also advancing into the air source heat pump sector to address household energy issues through energy-saving technologies. Its subsidiary, Yude, is creating distributed one-stop solutions in the household and commercial photovoltaic sectors, achieving turnkey projects.

Simultaneously, GoodWe has set up the Smart Energy Division to develop the “Smart Energy WE Platform,” which currently covers over 100 parks and 4,000 projects, with a cooperative scale exceeding 8GW, and plans to break through 15GW by the end of this year. Through digital and intelligent management, GoodWe is reconstructing the energy value system, aiding the new energy industry in advancing to a higher level.

Policy Winds Propelling New Opportunities for Virtual Power Plants

Wang Yingge commented, “Under the new policies, energy storage will become a reservoir tool, effectively regulating power prices and enhancing the profitability of photovoltaic projects. The combined development of distributed photovoltaics and energy storage is an inevitable trend, which can improve energy self-sufficiency, reduce dependence on the main grid, and enhance power reliability.” Furthermore, the new policies have opened up fresh opportunities for the technology of virtual power plants combined with distributed systems. Virtual power plants require the aggregation of various energy sources for trading, and the participation of renewable energy in market transactions creates conditions for the realization of virtual power plants. GoodWe is actively laying out its strategy in the virtual power plant sector, relying on the prototype of the virtual power plant constructed through the “Smart Energy WE Platform,” enabling each power station to achieve digital and intelligent management while supporting the monitoring of carbon footprints and future carbon trading.

As the global energy transition enters deeper waters, GoodWe’s strategic evolution becomes increasingly clear: responding to uncertainties with a dual circulation approach, illustrating high-quality industry development through technological innovation, and constructing an energy value system with a collaborative ecological mindset based on “source, network, load, storage, and intelligence.”
