From May 19 to 22, during the 2025 International Forum on Energy and Power Transformation, the State Grid Corporation of China engaged in a series of diplomatic meetings with foreign energy and power companies, as well as relevant international organizations. The company’s chairman, Zhang Zhigang, held discussions with several key figures, including Carmela, the Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency; Manousakis, the Chairman and CEO of the Greek National Electricity Company; Chaudhry, Chairman of the Board of the Pakistan National Transmission Company; Meier, Secretary-General of the Global Electricity Operators Organization; Huang Tianyuan, CEO of the Singapore Energy Group; Wilkinson, Secretary-General and CEO of the World Energy Council; and Costa, Chairman of the National Energy Network of Portugal.
The General Manager of the company, Pang Xiaogang, also met with several leaders, including Megat, President and CEO of Malaysia International Energy; Pang Guoqiang, Director of the Energy Market Authority of Singapore; and Liang Jinhui, Executive Director of the World Economic Forum. Additionally, Pan Jingdong, the Deputy General Manager, participated in relevant meetings and met with a delegation from Brazil’s regulatory and academic institutions.
During these discussions, both Chinese and foreign representatives exchanged in-depth views on topics such as green low-carbon energy transition, the construction of power infrastructure, the management of large power grids, digitalization and intelligence, as well as personnel training and exchanges. The meetings also included the participation of Zhu Guangchao, Assistant to the General Manager; Liu Kejian, Assistant to the General Manager and Director of the Office; and various department heads, along with foreign counterparts.
