SolarEdge Ramps Up U.S. Manufacturing with New Utah Facility
SolarEdge Technologies, Inc., a global leader in smart energy technology, has announced the opening of its new manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. This facility has begun the production and shipment of the SolarEdge ‘USA Edition’ Home Battery in the first quarter of the year. This marks a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to enhance its domestic supply chain and promote energy independence in the United States.
The Salt Lake City site is a crucial part of SolarEdge’s long-term strategy to expand its manufacturing presence in America, catering to the increasing demand for locally produced energy storage solutions while ensuring compliance with U.S. content requirements. This new facility complements previously established manufacturing sites in Florida and Texas, resulting in the creation of over 2,000 new jobs across the country.
With this expansion, SolarEdge now manufactures its entire U.S. residential product line, which includes inverters, Power Optimizers, and Home Batteries, domestically. This investment not only supports high-skilled local manufacturing but also contributes to the advancement of America’s clean energy infrastructure.
U.S. Representative Celeste Maloy expressed enthusiasm about this development, stating, “In Utah, we are eager to be a part of our nation’s energy solutions. It’s time to build again in America, and this new manufacturing of battery storage solutions right here in Utah’s 2nd Congressional district is evidence that our state is leading the charge.”
