Global Industry Chain Gathers in Shanghai to Explore New Paths for Dual Carbon Goals

The SNEC PV+ 18th (2025) International Solar Photovoltaic and Smart Energy Conference and Exhibition will grandly commence from June 10-13, 2025, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center Shanghai, specifically at the InterContinental Hotel (1700 Zhuguang Road, Shanghai) and the National Exhibition Center (333 Songze Avenue, Shanghai).

For the past 18 years, amidst the ups and downs of the global photovoltaic industry, the SNEC PV+ Exhibition has grown from its inaugural 15,000 square meters in 2007 to an impressive 380,000 square meters in 2025, featuring over 3,000 exhibiting companies. International exhibitors account for nearly 30% of the participants, attracting more than 500,000 professional visitors from over 90 countries and regions. This event has established itself as an international, professional, and large-scale platform for cooperation and communication.

The annual SNEC PV+ International Photovoltaic Conference has become a key barometer for the development trends in the global photovoltaic and energy storage industries, covering aspects such as technological pathways, equipment manufacturing, market positioning, and application models. This year’s exhibition presents an unprecedented array of companies, showcasing flagship booths exceeding 1,000 square meters and numerous exhibitors with booths of several hundred square meters dispersed throughout the venue.

Key participants include renowned companies such as Sunpower, Huawei Digital Energy, GCL-Poly, TCL Technology, LONGi Green Energy, Trina Solar, BYD, JA Solar, and many others, representing a formidable lineup of leading industry players.

The SNEC PV+ conference will feature a diverse range of formats and rich content. The Advanced Technology Conference will focus on various high-efficiency battery technologies, including heterojunction, TOPCon, perovskite, and bifacial solar cells, along with their materials and related technologies. Topics will also cover floating solar systems, distributed photovoltaics, building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), smart operation and maintenance technologies, energy storage systems, and safety applications. The discussions will emphasize how to enhance product quality while effectively reducing costs, improving conversion efficiency, and fostering healthy competition in the industry.

Additionally, high-level forums will delve into industry market trends, collaborative development strategies, national policy directions, new materials, energy internet, AI+Energy, investment and financing, mergers and acquisitions, compliance, and ESG-focused applications.

This year’s event features an impressive lineup of speakers, including Mr. Erik Solheim, former UN Deputy Secretary-General and Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme, and Dato Patinggi Abang Johari Openg, Chief Minister of Sarawak, Malaysia, who will deliver keynote speeches. Other distinguished speakers include esteemed academicians and experts from around the globe, such as Academician Zhou Xiaoxin from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Martin Green from the University of New South Wales, Professor Eicke R. Weber from the Fraunhofer Institute, and many others.

The SNEC PV+ 2025 International Photovoltaic Conference will gather diverse delegations from global governmental and corporate sectors, including an official delegation from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and representatives from the Sarawak State Government and Power Company of Malaysia. Participants will include representatives from mature markets such as Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the USA, Japan, and South Korea, as well as emerging industrial countries in the Middle East, India, Southeast Asia (like the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam), South America (such as Brazil, Argentina, Mexico), and Central American Free Trade Areas (like Panama).

To help exhibitors expand their market reach and facilitate efficient connections, the SNEC organizing committee has launched new platforms and features, such as a dedicated electronic ticketing system for exhibitors and a pre-show interaction service platform for exhibitors and attendees. A “New Energy Product Promotion Directory” is also being developed to assist exhibitors in promoting their advanced products to state-owned enterprises and accessing global markets.

During the exhibition, a series of engaging on-site activities will take place, including the SNEC Passport Challenge, a lottery, the selection of the “Top Ten Highlights” from exhibitors, professional media interviews, and leader and booth interviews. The Asia Photovoltaic Storage Awards will be presented, along with the release of the “Global New Energy ESG Top 100 List” and the “Global New Energy Brand Top 10 List.”

Furthermore, the SNEC organizing committee will host the SNEC ES+ 10th (2025) International Energy Storage and Battery Technology Conference and Exhibition from October 9-12, 2025, at the Kerry Hotel in Pudong, Shanghai, and the Shanghai New International Expo Center. This event aims to promote the industrial ecological chains and value chains of “photovoltaics, storage, charging, computing, testing, and cloud” as well as “photovoltaics, storage, charging, hydrogen, ammonia, and alcohol,” covering comprehensive technological research and integration across the entire industry chain. It will support the high-quality development of the energy storage and hydrogen energy industries, contributing to the timely realization of China’s dual carbon strategy goals.

The SNEC invites energy professionals from around the world to converge in Shanghai, focusing on industry perspectives and challenges, engaging in in-depth discussions on the development trends of photovoltaic, energy storage, and hydrogen energy markets, and working together to pave the way for an innovative and mutually beneficial future!
