SNEC 2025 International Conference and Exhibition on Energy Storage and Hydrogen Energy Kicks Off in Shanghai, Leading the Energy Transformation

From October 9 to 12, 2025, the “SNEC ES+ 11th (2025) International Conference and Exhibition on Energy Storage and Battery Technologies” and the “SNEC H2+ 9th (2025) International Conference and Exhibition on Hydrogen Energy and Fuel Cell Technologies” (collectively referred to as “SNEC 2025 International Conference and Exhibition on Energy Storage and Hydrogen Energy”) were grandly launched at the Kerry Hotel in Pudong, Shanghai, and the Shanghai New International Expo Center.

On October 9, the opening ceremony of SNEC 2025 gathered numerous distinguished guests, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The opening ceremony also featured the launch of the Global New Energy Empowerment Center, the Global Energy Storage and Battery Council, and the Global Energy Storage Multi-Innovation Challenge. The establishment of the “Global New Energy Empowerment Center” signifies the creation of an international platform aimed at connecting global energy enterprises. This initiative is a response to the industry’s needs and will become an ecological hub for efficient resource sharing and industrial collaboration. Located in the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District, the center will focus on six core functions: project development and precise resource matching, capital introduction and financing services, technology incubation and industry implementation, industry training and standard-setting, establishing cooperative mechanisms with international media to boost global brand recognition, and sharing business spaces to create an integrated platform for procurement, supply, and commerce.

The “Global Energy Storage and Battery Council,” co-initiated by the Asia-Pacific New Energy Industry Association and the European Energy Storage Industry Association, aims to establish a high-end platform that gathers global wisdom and consolidates collective efforts to promote project implementation, expand product applications, and enhance market promotion. This council will inject strong momentum into global cooperation and development in the energy storage and battery industries, addressing the opportunities and challenges they face while promoting healthy and sustainable growth.

The inaugural “Global Energy Storage Multi-Innovation Challenge,” jointly initiated by ACWA Power, SNEC, and CBC, was officially launched. This competition seeks to create an open collaboration platform that encourages global innovators to explore new scenarios, models, and solutions for the integration of energy storage and hydrogen energy, collectively addressing core challenges in the energy sector. At this pivotal moment in the global energy transition, energy storage and hydrogen energy should not be seen as competitors but as partners that complement each other.

Additionally, to recognize outstanding contributions to the advancement of energy storage and battery technology, and to encourage continuous innovation and collaborative development across the entire industry chain, the Global Energy Storage and Battery Council (in preparation), the European Energy Storage Industry Association (EAEST), the Asia-Pacific New Energy Industry Association (NEIAAP), and the Shanghai New Energy Industry Association (SNEIA) launched the “Global Energy Storage and Battery Leaders” selection event, culminating in a prestigious award ceremony during the opening of the SNEC 2025.

The conference featured multiple high-end technical forums focusing on key topics such as energy storage material technologies and smart equipment, energy storage safety and standardization, innovative energy storage system design and solutions, green hydrogen industry, ALK/PEM/AEM/SOC hydrogen electrolyzers, hydrogen storage and transportation, and comprehensive utilization of hydrogen energy.
