Shanxi Province Advances Smart Energy Management with AI-Driven Power Plant Control Systems

Shanxi

Shanxi Province has made significant strides in developing artificial intelligence-based electricity consumption regulation systems, with the aim of enhancing energy management efficiency. As of May 7, 2025, a new regulation has been implemented, focusing on the establishment of these systems.

On this date, Shanxi Province’s energy authority revealed that the National Intellectual Property Administration had approved a patent titled “Method and System for Regulating Electricity Consumption Based on Artificial Intelligence,” under application number CN119945317A, with a filing date of January 2025.

This patented technology aims to improve the regulation of electricity consumption by leveraging artificial intelligence, allowing for more precise control over energy usage. The system is designed to collect data regarding electricity consumption patterns and analyze it to optimize energy distribution.

Furthermore, the regulation emphasizes the importance of data collection and analysis. It aims to enhance the ability to monitor energy usage and identify abnormalities, ensuring that the energy management system can effectively respond to any irregularities.

Additionally, the framework outlined in the regulation specifies the need for real-time monitoring and adaptive control mechanisms to ensure the efficiency of the electricity management systems. It includes guidelines for addressing various scenarios based on user behavior and consumption patterns.

Shanxi Province has been at the forefront of energy technology since 2018. Based in Taiyuan, the province has established itself as a leading enterprise in energy technology development and application. It currently employs approximately 5,500 staff.

Through extensive data analysis, Shanxi’s energy authorities have collaborated with three companies, participating in 32 projects related to energy efficiency standards, with 2 financial indicators and 8 proprietary information indicators confirmed. Additionally, they have received 13 licenses for various projects.
