Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) has launched a new electric vehicle platform named DMH at the 2025 China International Industry Fair held on September 23, 2025, in Shanghai. This platform aims to enhance the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) sustainability development information and focuses on advancing cutting-edge technology in electric vehicles.
During the exhibition, SAIC introduced the “One Body, Lightweight Intelligent Driving” concept, showcasing various models including the LS6, a new generation intelligent SUV, and the LS9, a large SUV. Other models included the H5, a compact SUV, and the M7, a large, intelligent electric minivan. Additionally, they presented the MG4, a fully electric vehicle, and the X series, which integrates advanced electric driving technologies.
The DMH platform emphasizes the integration of artificial intelligence and smart driving systems. This includes real-time sensing capabilities, predictive algorithms, and rapid response times, with the ability to react within 10 milliseconds, significantly faster than traditional systems.
SAIC also highlighted the DMH platform’s modular design, which allows for a range of applications in lightweight vehicle construction. This involves advanced design strategies that reduce vehicle weight by up to 30% and enhance energy efficiency through innovative battery technology, potentially increasing range and performance.
Furthermore, the platform ensures high safety standards, meeting ASIL-D compliance, with a braking delay of less than 90 milliseconds. It incorporates advanced materials, including high-strength steel and aluminum, to improve safety and durability.
SAIC’s focus on lightweight construction and energy efficiency reflects a commitment to sustainable automotive technology, with plans to improve the overall efficiency of their electric vehicles through ongoing innovations.
