Shanghai Introduces New Car Purchase Subsidies in Two Districts, Offering Up to 24,000 Yuan

Attention to all residents planning to purchase a vehicle! Recently, the latest car purchase subsidy guidelines for Xuhui and Minhang districts were shared, and now there are new subsidy initiatives available in two more districts: Pudong and Jiading. Please note that the number of subsidies is limited, so act quickly!

Pudong New Area Car Purchase Subsidy Guidelines

Starting from October 1, 2025, individual consumers purchasing new cars in Pudong New Area will be eligible for a purchase subsidy! There are 15,000 subsidies available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you combine this with national and municipal subsidy policies, you could receive up to 24,000 yuan in total subsidies!

Activity Details

From October 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025, individual users purchasing new fuel vehicles that meet the National VI B emission standards or new energy vehicles at authorized car sales institutions in Pudong New Area can apply for the subsidy. Registration for the vehicle must be completed at the city’s traffic management department between October 1, 2025 and January 10, 2026, obtaining a valid vehicle registration certificate and driving permit.

The subsidy will be provided based on the vehicle price:

• 2,000 yuan for vehicles priced below 200,000 yuan (excluding).
• 4,000 yuan for vehicles priced at 200,000 yuan and above (inclusive).

Eligible individual users can submit their subsidy applications through the Car Exchange Alliance, the official platform for the vehicle trade-in subsidy policy in Shanghai. After approval from the District Commerce Committee, the subsidy will be paid directly to the applicant’s bank account.

Important Notes

1. Subsidies will only be granted for eligible new cars purchased within the specified timeframe.
2. A total of 15,000 subsidy quotas are available in Pudong New Area, and applications will be numbered in the order they are received.
3. This subsidy can be combined with national and municipal vehicle replacement subsidies.
4. Applicants must submit their applications personally through the designated channels.
5. The application period runs from 10:00 AM on October 15, 2025 to 12:00 AM on January 15, 2026.

Application Requirements

1. The applicant and the recipient of the subsidy must be the same individual. The vehicle’s ownership must be registered under the applicant’s name before the subsidy is disbursed.
2. New fuel vehicles must meet the National VI B emission standards, and new energy vehicles must be included in the relevant national catalog.
3. Purchase dates must fall between October 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025, as indicated on the vehicle sales invoice.
4. Vehicles must be registered with the traffic management department between October 1, 2025 and January 10, 2026.

Application Process

The application process primarily occurs online and must be initiated by the vehicle owner. Applications can be submitted using the following:

• Car Exchange Alliance App

Applicants must read and agree to the terms, fill in the required information accurately, and upload necessary documents before submitting their application.

Application Materials Checklist

1. Applicant Information: Name, valid ID number and type, bank card number with UnionPay logo, and a mobile number that matches the bank account.
2. Vehicle Information: Unified sales invoice, vehicle registration certificate, and vehicle driving permit.

Application Review and Results

After submitting the application, consumers can check their application status through the Car Exchange Alliance WeChat official account or app. Results will be communicated within 15 working days. If required, applicants may need to provide additional information.

Reasons for Application Denial

Applications may be denied for several reasons, including but not limited to:

• Incomplete information or failure to meet submission requirements.
• Incorrect personal account or bank details.
• Invoices dated outside of the purchase period.

Subsidy Payment

Once the application is approved by the District Commerce Committee, the subsidy will be transferred to the applicant’s bank account.

Jiading District Car Purchase Subsidy

To further strengthen the automotive industry in Jiading District and enhance the effectiveness of consumer policies, a car purchase subsidy program has been established.

Activity Timeline

The subsidy program runs from October 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025.

Activity Details

During this period, individual consumers purchasing passenger cars priced at 150,000 yuan and above (including tax) from participating retail dealerships in Jiading District will be eligible for the subsidy. The purchased vehicle must have been released after July 1, 2025.

Subsidy Standards

Consumers purchasing qualifying vehicles can benefit from the following subsidies:

• 3,000 yuan for vehicles priced from 150,000 yuan to 300,000 yuan (exclusive).
• 4,000 yuan for vehicles priced from 300,000 yuan to 450,000 yuan (exclusive).
• 5,000 yuan for vehicles priced above 450,000 yuan.

In addition, electric vehicles will receive an additional 500 yuan on top of these amounts.

Application Process

1. Applicants must submit a completed form along with the purchase invoice, proof of vehicle tax payment, driving permit, and a valid ID. The retail dealership will consolidate these applications for submission.
2. The deadline for submitting applications and materials is 5:00 PM on January 30, 2026.
