The 2nd Net Zero Earth Expo commenced on April 22, aligning with the theme of World Earth Day 2025: “Our Power, Our Planet.” This event is organized by the Low Carbon Healthy Living Foundation and co-promoted by Guan Huan Construction. The expo is located next to the A20 Hsing Nan MRT station at 710 Zhongfeng North Road, Zhongli District.
The organizers highlighted that this year's expo focuses on the architectural industry’s Architectural Social Responsibility (ASR). The main themes include Deep Carbon Reduction Implementation, Living Medicine 3.0, and Net Zero Buildings. Experts from related fields will engage in cross-disciplinary discussions to propose practical solutions that balance human health and environmental sustainability.
The expo also illustrates how the Deep Cultivation 17 project serves as a practical field for climate adaptation and healthy living. Key exhibits include:

Deep Carbon Reduction Implementation: This involves the introduction of a microalgae system that captures carbon dioxide waste from community underground parking, which is then used to irrigate community gardens. This innovative integration aims to achieve deep carbon reduction alongside urban service-oriented agriculture. Additionally, the expo showcases the reuse of construction materials, featuring a sales center built using a low-carbon "earth box" method that reduces carbon emissions by 43.8%. This center is constructed with six 40-foot second-hand shipping containers, demonstrating a model for legal construction recycling in Taiwan.

Living Medicine 3.0: This concept merges community healing landscape design with service-oriented agriculture. It combines the low-carbon building space of the "earth box" with "wooden box" gardening design, collaboratively creating a perceptible green therapeutic space. Furthermore, the introduction of NPI emotional measurement and precise health prescriptions is facilitated through a partnership between Chang Gung University and Acer Communications, promoting a new model for aging in place, successful aging, and healthy longevity in communities.

Net Zero Buildings: In collaboration with AUO, a lightweight solar flooring solution has been introduced, providing both low-carbon electricity generation and insulation benefits, enhancing the energy efficiency of buildings and reducing traditional construction costs by approximately three times. Another initiative combines Foshan and Formosa Plastics New Intelligent Technologies to create resilient balconies that utilize glass power generation and 24V household direct current energy storage, ensuring self-sufficient power for lighting, fans, and phone charging, even during power outages.

The forum will be hosted by Xie Jinhe, publisher of Business Weekly, in collaboration with representatives from Guan Huan Construction, Taiwan Architecture Center, Chang Gung University, Formosa Plastics New Intelligent Technologies, AUO, and Shanghai Commercial & Savings Bank. They will focus on the theme of Low Carbon Building Green Competitiveness, sharing insights on the practical implementation of net zero actions and the future outlook for the industry.
As extreme climate disasters become more frequent globally, the expo will also delve into themes of Disaster-Resilient Architecture and High-Resilience Urban Planning. The discussions will shift from everyday energy conservation to post-disaster self-sufficiency, enhancing public understanding and action regarding the concept of "buildings as a defense line." This aims to write a new chapter for Taiwan's journey toward a sustainable future that balances energy conservation and resilience.
Additionally, the expo will address the Financial Supervisory Commission's Green Finance Action Plan 3.0, exploring how to integrate financial resources and build a green finance ecosystem that supports companies in their transition to net zero and fosters a low-carbon economy. It will also introduce the Green Mortgage policy that provides tangible benefits for homebuyers. Those purchasing buildings certified or nominated as green by the Ministry of the Interior can enjoy various mortgage advantages, including low-interest rates, high loan amounts, and fee discounts, showcasing the momentum of policies and financial instruments in promoting sustainability.
