The 2nd European Symposium on Polymer Electrolytes for Battery Applications, known as ESPE-2, will be held from June 9 to 11, 2025, at Uppsala University in Uppsala, Sweden. This event will bring together leading researchers and emerging talents from across Europe to discuss advancements in polymer electrolytes and battery technology.

Polymer electrolytes play a crucial role in the evolution of battery technology, paving the way for new research opportunities. Following the success of the inaugural ESPE in 2023, this next symposium aims to facilitate knowledge sharing, networking, and collaboration among participants.
Welcome to ESPE-2!
With a rich history in battery research, polymer electrolytes have significantly advanced both material development and our understanding of ion transport mechanisms within polymers. Today, we find ourselves at a pivotal moment with numerous battery technologies available for exploration. The diversification of cell chemistries creates exciting new avenues and encourages us to revisit established concepts and findings.
After the successful first ESPE held at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany in September 2023, ESPE-2 will take place in Uppsala. The organizers are dedicated to fostering a focused meeting that primarily targets the European academic community, including a substantial number of PhD students and newcomers, alongside relevant industry researchers.
This symposium will provide an excellent opportunity for newcomers in the field to engage with leading experts, showcase their latest findings, and build valuable connections to advance the development of polymer electrolytes collectively. We hope to see many of you in Uppsala in June!
