RoboSense Powers the Future of Robotic Lawn Mowers with Exclusive Digital LiDAR Launch

RoboSense

Weland大陆, a leading global brand in intelligent lawn mowers, announced on February 3 that it has exclusively launched three product lines equipped with RoboSense (速腾聚创) all-solid-state digital LiDAR. These include the H2 series, which emphasizes balanced performance and intelligent obstacle avoidance, as well as the i2LiDAR model, focused on efficient coverage, creating a comprehensive solution for both residential and commercial use.

Thanks to the capabilities of RoboSense‘s automotive-grade all-solid-state LiDAR, this launch addresses long-standing challenges associated with traditional lawn mowers. It enables borderless deployment, uninterrupted signal in areas with trees and narrow spaces, and centimeter-level positioning that remains stable in both bright and dim environments. This results in an intelligent experience that is truly “ready to use from the moment it’s powered on,” marking a significant leap into the era of digital perception for borderless intelligent lawn mowers, providing users with a “set it and forget it” experience.

The E1R all-solid-state digital LiDAR from RoboSense has emerged as the core sensing choice for Weland’s new products, leveraging cutting-edge self-developed technology to provide a comprehensive performance upgrade for the lawn mowers. In terms of precise sensing and mapping, the E1R boasts ultra-dense 3D point cloud output capability, achieving a resolution up to four times that of traditional LiDAR within the same field of view. Its mapping and navigation are highly efficient and accurate, allowing for real-time rendering of garden environments.

For all-weather stable operation, the E1R’s active detection technology ensures that it maintains centimeter-level positioning performance even in complex environments prone to obstructions and collisions. It operates effectively regardless of weak or strong light conditions, as well as in fluctuating brightness scenarios, ensuring uninterrupted operation.

Additionally, the E1R can detect small obstacles with a diameter as low as 1 centimeter, enabling the lawn mower to identify over 200 types of objects and establishing a solid barrier for safe operation in gardens. With a fully solid-state design and no moving parts, it effectively prevents malfunctions caused by vibrations or collisions. The compact light-emitting window allows for embedded deployment, and the glass material is highly durable.

Furthermore, the E1R features the world’s first integrated SPAD-SoC chip for laser reception and processing, along with the industry’s only mass-producible 2DVCSEL emission chip. This high level of integration results in superior point cloud quality and seamless algorithm fusion, laying a strong foundation for high performance. The core chips meet the AEC-Q102 automotive-grade certification, and the entire product has passed over 60 reliability tests, ensuring stable operation in extreme conditions such as high and low temperatures, rain, and dust.

Thanks to multi-modal navigation technology, including high-precision solid-state LiDAR, Weland’s new lawn mowers can maintain stable signals and centimeter-level positioning accuracy even in dark areas, narrow passages, or during night operations. This enables precise sensing and analysis of real lawn environments, making automated mowing incredibly effortless and convenient.

According to the OFweek ViCo Network, Weland has secured the leading position in global sales of lawn mower 3D LiDAR, with a projected total of 303,000 units sold in this field by 2025, reflecting a remarkable year-on-year growth of 1141.8%. The company has formed partnerships with several top five manufacturers in the global lawn mower industry, achieving a significant scale of orders that validate the value of its technology and product applications.

As a premier brand already serving over 400,000 households worldwide, Weland’s new product launch coincides with a critical phase of explosive growth in the global lawn mower market. Third-party forecasts predict that the global market size will reach between $2.76 billion and $4.04 billion by 2028, with the penetration of LiDAR as a core sensing component rapidly increasing. With its self-developed chip technology, global mass production capabilities for digital LiDAR, and first-mover advantages in the market, RoboSense is expected to continue solidifying its position as the global sales leader, further deepening collaboration with major companies like Weland to jointly advance the large-scale commercialization of the intelligent lawn care industry.
