Redefining the Global Energy Storage Landscape! Haibosi Technology has launched the new HyperBlock M, making significant strides in the energy storage sector. In an era of rapid technological evolution, Haibosi has chosen a distinctive path: instead of blindly pursuing the latest battery specifications, the company focuses on understanding the long-term needs of global customers. They are committed to providing tailored solutions that drive the new value of energy storage.
At the European Smart Energy Expo in Munich this May, Haibosi unveiled the MagicBlock platform, along with the HyperBlock M product. This large-scale energy storage system is designed to revolutionize the design, deployment, and management of storage systems. With its exceptional modular design and adaptability, it meets diverse energy demands and sets a new benchmark for the global energy storage industry.
Yang Heng, Senior Product Manager for Haibosi’s large-scale energy storage systems, stated, “The HyperBlock M is a culmination of our global collaboration and customer-centric philosophy. We have engaged extensively with customers and partners across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, North America, and Asia-Pacific, gathering valuable feedback that drives product iteration to ensure a precise fit for customer needs.” He added that customers consistently seek solutions that offer higher returns on investment, enhanced safety, improved efficiency, and flexible scalability.
In response to these core demands, Haibosi has entirely redefined its product platform from the ground up. The MagicBlock platform discards the limitations of single battery cells or PCS (Power Conversion Systems), providing a flexible system architecture that can be configured based on project requirements. It is widely applicable in scenarios such as renewable energy grid connections, frequency regulation, peak shaving, or independent energy storage stations.
One of the breakthrough innovations of the HyperBlock M is the simplification of the industry-standard 20-foot container into a 10-foot standard unit. This change significantly enhances transport efficiency and simplifies project deployment in logistics-constrained areas. While the industry trend leans towards larger systems, Haibosi believes that in regions with underdeveloped transportation infrastructure, 20-foot containers often require special permits, leading to frequent transport delays. The compact modular design of the HyperBlock M allows for quicker and more economical deployment without the need for complex disassembly.
This innovation goes beyond mere size optimization. The HyperBlock M features user-friendly designs, including a front airflow system, a top thermal management module, and an easy maintenance interface, allowing for a higher degree of modularity and operational convenience. Even in tight spaces, it supports flexible installations in shoulder-to-shoulder and back-to-back configurations, maximizing space utilization.
The HyperBlock M is not just a storage product; it is a comprehensive platform centered around customer demands. It can function as a direct current (DC) solution or as a complete turnkey alternating current (AC) integration unit, providing integrated AC/DC systems with built-in string-type PCS, along with customizable medium-voltage substation solutions. Haibosi has fully upgraded its thermal management system and high-voltage architecture, significantly reducing auxiliary power loads and providing critical support for project developers in optimizing capital expenditures and long-term operational costs. These design optimizations can greatly enhance the economic benefits over the entire lifecycle of projects with 4-hour, 8-hour, or even 12-hour storage durations.
The platform is equipped with a new 400kW PCS and a real-time performance monitoring system that actively tracks key indicators such as discharge capacity, round-trip efficiency, and battery state of health (SoH). “We believe that customers require not just a ‘ready-to-use’ system, but assurance of long-term stability. Through intelligent balancing algorithms and thermal management technology, we ensure that performance consistently meets customer expectations,” Yang explained.
Operational capacity is often the key to the success or failure of energy storage projects. Haibosi has built a new operational and maintenance ecosystem centered around digitalization. Each HyperBlock M unit can wirelessly connect to web and mobile applications, allowing customers to remotely monitor performance, receive real-time alerts, and automatically schedule maintenance based on predictive analytics, significantly enhancing operational efficiency.
Haibosi’s excellent design is not only reflected in the high quality of the product but also in thoughtful management and operational strategies. The intelligent inspection system equipped in the HyperBlock M prioritizes maintenance across multiple sites based on urgency and lifecycle status. For instance, when managing 10 to 20 storage sites, the system can accurately direct teams on where to go and what tools to bring, achieving optimal solutions with AI assistance.
To reduce technological barriers in overseas markets, Haibosi has developed a voice-interactive AI expert assistant, HyperGenie, which leverages the company’s proprietary big data model, integrating over 200 maintenance case studies and experiences from more than 50 experts. It offers multilingual, step-by-step maintenance guidance, ensuring that even novices can safely and efficiently complete complex tasks.
Looking towards the future, Haibosi has developed tools for quickly replacing battery modules, addressing the challenges of handling modules weighing over one ton. Traditional forklift or manual operations are time-consuming and risky; however, the semi-automated system of the HyperBlock M can complete module replacements in under one hour with minimal manpower, balancing efficiency and safety. From operational support to early fault detection and automatic diagnosis, the HyperBlock M optimizes the entire operational chain from installation to long-term service, truly embodying a customer-centric design philosophy.
The HyperBlock M represents not just a product but a profound transformation in energy storage system design philosophy. It is built around people, scenarios, and performance, discarding the traditional battery-centric thinking. It incorporates portability, modularity, and smart monitoring to accurately respond to the real demands of the global energy storage market. “Our clients are planning their energy strategies for the next decade, not just focusing on the next deployment,” Yang stated. “With its flexibility, visibility, and reliability, the HyperBlock M empowers customers with confidence for sustainable development.”
