Reliance Infrastructure is set to enter the renewable energy (RE) equipment manufacturing sector as part of its strategy to expand its business portfolio. According to industry sources, the company has made significant appointments to lead this initiative. Ivan Saha has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Renewable Manufacturing, while Mushtaque Hussain will serve as the CEO of Battery Manufacturing.
With this move, Reliance Infrastructure aims to establish an integrated solar manufacturing unit that will enhance the production of solar panels and components within India. This initiative is designed to promote self-sufficiency in clean energy. Saha, who brings over 30 years of experience in semiconductors, solar technology, and device design, will lead the solar manufacturing efforts. His previous experience includes positions at Vikram Solar and ReNew Power.
Additionally, the integrated battery manufacturing unit will focus on developing advanced energy storage solutions tailored for grid applications and electric mobility. Hussain, who will oversee this division, has over 25 years of expertise in the automotive, renewable energy, consumer electronics, and power tools sectors, having held key leadership roles at major companies such as Reliance Industries Ltd. and Tesla.
Reliance Infrastructure Limited is one of the largest infrastructure companies in India, operating in sectors such as metro rail, toll roads, and power distribution. In the third quarter of FY25, the company’s expenses decreased to ₹4,963.23 crore, reflecting a year-on-year decline of 2.08% compared to ₹5,068.71 crore in the same period of FY24.
