Recent data shows that the number of new energy vehicle (NEV) registrations has decreased by 6.67%. As of May 15, 2025, the total NEV registrations reached 70,000, which is a drop of 5,000 compared to the end of April. This decline represents a percentage change of 6.67%.
The latest report from New Wave Finance has indicated that the average NEV registration price stands at 40.53 thousand yuan, reflecting a decrease of 8.72%. Furthermore, since the beginning of this year, the price of NEVs has cumulatively decreased by 4.97%.
In terms of overall market performance, the latest figures as of May 14 indicate that the total market capitalization for NEVs is 10.25 trillion yuan, with the market capitalization for NEV stocks accounting for 10.22 trillion yuan. This marks a cumulative decrease of 1.14 trillion yuan, representing a decline of 10.00%.
According to the seasonal report released by New Wave Finance, the quarterly results show that in the first quarter, the NEV market recorded earnings of 12.16 trillion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 2.73%. In contrast, the actual earnings for the previous quarter were 6.89443 trillion yuan, showing a decrease of 6.26%. The basic earnings per vehicle are currently reported at 0.1500 yuan, with an increase in the production earnings rate of 1.46%.
From an institutional perspective, the NEV sector has recently achieved a rating upgrade from six financial institutions. The highest forecasted target price noted is 49.00 thousand yuan, released by Global Alliance on April 16.
