Chuneng New Energy Expands by 70GWh! Ningde Times Plans to Acquire a Phosphate Lithium Material Company

On October 4, 2025, Chuneng New Energy announced the signing of an investment agreement with the People’s Government of Xiangyang, Hubei Province, for a new lithium battery production base. This facility will have an annual production capacity of 70GWh and will focus on the research and manufacturing of energy storage batteries, power batteries, packs, and prefabricated cabins. Once fully operational, it is expected to become a leading hub for advanced technology in the new energy sector, effectively transforming and upgrading the energy industry in Xiangyang and Hubei.

Chuneng New Energy stated that this project marks a significant step in deepening its strategic industrial layout. The Xiangyang facility will collaborate efficiently with its other bases in Xiaogan, Wuhan, and Yichang, creating a comprehensive lithium battery ecosystem encompassing research innovation, large-scale manufacturing, and high-end applications.

On September 29, 2025, Plit announced that its subsidiary, Guangdong Haida Sodium Star Technology Co., has signed an investment agreement with the management committee of the Neijiang Economic and Technological Development Zone in Sichuan. The agreement includes the establishment of a 6GWh sodium-ion battery production base. The project has a total investment of approximately 8 billion yuan, with the first phase designed to produce 2GWh and the second phase expanding to 4GWh. Construction is expected to start within 24 months after the first phase begins operations.

Power Battery Comprehensive Utilization Industrial Park Launched in Meizhou, Guangdong

On October 2, 2025, the launch of the “Xingning Power Battery Comprehensive Utilization Industrial Park” took place in the Tianhe Innovation Industrial Park in Meizhou, Guangdong. The first six companies that will set up operations there plan to invest over 1.5 billion yuan. On September 26, 2025, China Rui Holdings announced that its subsidiary, Zhongrui Korea, signed a memorandum with the Gyeonggi Provincial Government in South Korea to invest up to 600 billion KRW (approximately 3 billion yuan) in establishing a secondary battery component assembly facility in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province.
